A few weeks ago at the burger popup Shakil mentioned that he can't see when he's hungry. I believe this was foreshadowing the massive upcoming plot where Shakil only has half a piece of toast for breakfast and goes permanently blind.

Soap fans going mad and wearing their fingers to the bone in a weepsome rage of typing frenzy at the latest outrage unfolding on their screens.
In a totally meta moment Ronnie Mitchell is arrested after her year long campaign to bring back Zoe Tate to Home Farm culminates in tragedy. |

go on then educate the oldie and tell me what it is
This is a good overview ... https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...gay-drugs-film I genuinely think that a soap could and should tackle this as a subject and, in spite of the subject matter, I think it's possible. |

interesting, could they do it before the watershed tho I wonder?
who would you have involved? actually just reading what it is about Hollyoaks could maybe have done it with Ste There was also a story about chemsex serial killer in London (he's currently on trial for murdering four men and attempting to murder others) that I thought could be covered by a soap. I genuinely thought it could be a good storyline for Sean in Corrie ![]() ![]()

whats the issue? does toast cause blindness?
what burger pop up tho? is this fan fiction? ![]() if it is it is absolutely bloody terrible further confirming why my eyes don't need to see it ![]() Shakil ordered one and said that he can't see properly when he's too hungry. The scene was both emotionally loaded and poignant, as it foreshadowed the tragedy of learning that a lack of food will literally sever his optical nerve. It may come as some comfort to you that the piece of toast that turns out to be the catalyst for his condition is a piece of thick sliced granary with a light smattering of butter. Thanks. |

I think that they could easily focus on the drugs aspect without having to rely heavily on the sex. With intelligent writing, the sexual aspect could be alluded to but not given prominence. It's more about depicting reckless and risky behaviour that leads to serious impacts in a person's wider life. That's either physically through diseases like HIV or other STIs or socially/mentally through losing their job or losing the ability to function 'normally'. Many of the people who involve themselves in Chemsex are hitting some kind of 'self destruct' button, although the majority don't realise it.

Off of Eastenders, Lea. The popup burger stand Steven setup when Beale's closed down because he robbed the place.

I could see Todd being more likely to do something like that to be honest
Actually, when there was all the rubbish with him and Billy this week and Todd was saying he wanted to 'go off and meet someone' I got the feeling that it could have been the start for this kind of story, with him getting into it seemingly by accident because he was angry at something else. Of course, Corrie got Todd and Billy back together within two episodes so any hope was short-lived. |

Regarding Todd - Kate Oates has said she's fascinated by the character and likes that he can be bad and that his insecurities manifest into dark behaviour so I'd be surprised if we don't see Todd go off the rails again.

An eating disorder for Whitney as she struggles to shift the baby weight following the birth of Bianca Rihanna Capri.
A blood cancer story for Martin which sees his family and friends unite to support him. An Alzhemier's story could be really powerful with Dot and revisit her rich history. Old friends could return, like Colin, to help her. |
