Then why does he continue to put her in these situations she obviously hates? She's mega rich, he could let her retire.

She must suffer from severe mental illness to still be under his control ten years after her breakdown first happened.
He does earn quite a substantial wage by being her conservator...

I thought Britney looked gorgeous. I loved her interview, she was really sweet and funny. I enjoyed her performance too.

I don't know why people still make a big deal out of her miming, she's always mimed and always will do.

It was definitely her best interview in years!

this is a bizarre performance , she is miming and it looks like she cant be arsed , no oomph, nothing, just a cold performance

What is wrong with her ?
heavily medicated due to her mental health condition

Britney must have gotten a lobotomy with her lip work. She seemed more present than I've seen her in anything. The musical performance was crap, as usual with her, but I was surprised that she actually seemed to utilise some of her media training for the interview.

I think she was safely in charge of her emotions, but alas, she's still dumber than a box of rocks.

Also, while a whole generation grew up after Britney with it, I STILL hate her particular version of Vocal Fry. It does my head in.

The less said about her live performing the better. A live Britney is a lipsynched Britney, of course, but even within those parameters it was sloppy.

Ross was a breath of fresh air 30 years ago on the Last resort but he hasn't changed his style apart from becoming cruder as the years have passed. He is now chronically outdated and should retire and count his millions....
Fresh air?. All he has ever done is nick every idea from US chat shows.

Enjoyed the show. Britney was a good booking, and the show has a better flow when they're interviewed individually rather than all being cramped on the sofa. Wish we had more of Blunt and Evans.

Could do without the American style silly games though. It was the downfall of Chatty Man for me. Why book interesting guests and spend more time playing 'games' than interviewing them?

The Late Late show with Corden does my head in. About 30 minutes of playing games and about 8 minutes of interviews. I wish UK chat shows wouldn't copy the formula.

Still prefer Ross to Norton though currently.

People on here will prob roll their eyes when I say this but what you have to remember is a lot of these stars, especially the ones that started in the business when they were teens or pre-teens, have never had a so-called ordinary life.

Most of the people on here, and I include myself in this, are ordinary with ordinary careers. Therefore, we can't imagine what it must be like to have been in the spot light since you were very young and almost constantly ever since. Is it any wonder that a % of stars, celebs whatever you want to call them go off the rails to whatever extent.

I remember someone like Elton John or Freddie Mercury being interviewed and the interviewer touched on the excesses in that (showbiz) world. The star said along the lines of 'part of my problem for a couple of decades is one minute I was on stage entertaining 40,000 people ... the next I was off stage but I wanted that buzz to continue', cue an all-night party with drink, drugs, sex etc etc.

Another star said in an interview they wanted to give up the act but were aware x people/families relied on them i.e. on the payroll, so to an extent they felt obliged to keep on going. Understandable if you have any sort of conscious.

My post ties in with people referring to her strange mannerisms and so on. I'm not saying she doesn't have them, I'm saying we look at it from the perspective of having no idea what that sort of up-bringing must be like and what it could potentially do to you mentally.

She's got to talk the talk when on camera, for all you know maybe she'd rather not be doing any of it. And before you say it yes I know they're in a very fortunate position financially etc ...

if u looked at her body language she was fiddling with her ring on her finger a lot which is a sign of nervousness.

He was indeed a breath of fresh air on The Last Resort. But, as others have said, that was nearly 30 years ago.

It shows what a poor interviewer Ross is that he couldn't recognise her nervousness and react to the situation.

If we're being honest, those kind of stupid games were likely happening on UK panel shows before American talk shows started doing them. How long has Celebrity Juice been on again?

I doubt there's anyone who doesn't know she's a nervous wreck when she actually has to speak. Almost everyone's seen or at least heard of her badly conceived US X-Factor judge run, for example.

I doubt Ross was oblivious. He probably just didn't have much faith of talking her down from a ledge she permanently stands on. You have to deal with Britney as is--keep things simple (because she's hardly the brightest bulb), don't ask about her bipolar disorder or head shaving, flatter her kids, and expect worse English than a teenager in a stoner comedy. He did all that, and (arguably rightfully) likely didn't expect more.

And yet he still subjected her to that stupid game...... And also went on and on about her being single. Let's face it, as an interviewer he was pathetic.

He did it because that a****hole Jimmy Fallon, already did this with her about 2 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myer--DyNXY

Of course if you watch that... she really just stood there and Fallon did 95% of it (and the rest was off cue cards).

Or she did this on Ellen Degeneres: https://youtu.be/0fBhad-_zN8

Then again, Ellen is far better at coaxing reactions out of celebrities than Ross (and she had to do it in a largely uncontrolled environment).

Must agree don't like the games at all.
Chatty Man just about unwatchable now, worst case scenario would have to be Alan Carr playing games on TJRS.
Doesn't help when JR insists on winking the gayness like a 1990s Frankie Howerd, titter me not, its just really naff. The schoolboy smut is just embarrassing, the challenge to kiss JR, the question about has Britney passed gas when performing etc.
I thought Britney came over pretty well, she did on Loose Women too. The miming is just what she does, even at her Vegas show supposedly.
Some of these comments had me expecting Britney to be like Hillary Clinton.

When is Jonathan going to interview his wife?

I think it would be very interesting.

'Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children' is out. This would be a good time.

Come to think of it, it's never going to happen but it would be good.

Talking of Alan Carr, Chatty Man has been axed... to be replaced with a show full of "sketches, stunts and games". Urgh.

I found it to be the weakest episode of the series. Had little to no interest in anyone on the panel. Jack Whitehall is about as funny to me as a brick to the eyeball, and as the interview went on, his lisp began getting more troublesome. Alan is always the same Alan, who has nothing really to add beyond the character he plays; and that's no longer very interesting. And the dullest interview was Darcey.

I actually would have preferred an interview with Years & Years over the others.

Ross is way past his sell-by date, ITV have already said there will be no series in 2017
