I got three things out of the article, which isn't bad going considering what I was expecting - Katya and Aliona didn't get along, Ola considers Kenny to be her worst partner even though she had Paul Daniels, and that she probably shouldn't start a career as an erotic novelist any time soon. The rest is just stories I've heard from the Jordans before, with the slant turned up so far it resembles someone defending themselves on a Judge Judy ("I was just walking along minding my own business and then OUT OF NOWHERE she called me a whore and HIT ME WITH A BOTTLE your honor! I had to drive my car over her leg 5 times! I was DEFENDING MYSELF"). If anything, the section about Dr Hammy being a sex-mad horror is tamer than I was hoping for.

Hopefully there's more juicy stuff in the next excerpt - the "something awful was said but it was SO awful I would NEVER repeat it" angle got old quickly here.

It's funny how food is so often attached to your roots. Mine is a mix of working class London/Scottish so my own memories are littered with mince and tatties, tooth rotting tablet and avoiding eels kept in the bath to 'keep 'em fresh' when visiting the bathroom in elderly relatives homes.
I still love mince 'n tatties and order tablet frae Amazon for my Mum because ye cannae get it doon here. .

Anyway, Ola's gossip fest will be in the bins of Poundland* soon enough, so I hope she makes a fair bit from it before then, because despite everything (and the man she married) I liked her and she seemed mostly well liked by her colleagues on the show.

Anyone who pays £12 for that book is nuts. I would put money on it being remaindered by the year end. You should be able to pick up a copy for a fiver from The Works or similar come January.

OH right thank you. I never heard of it. Is it a Scottish thing or a London thing? Please say Scottish as I am a Londoner (now displaced) and will feel very silly if this delicacy had passed me by because I wasn't working class enough to notice something happening under my nose.

Find it hard to believe that Billy Connolly would call James "laddie". I am from Glasgow as is Billy and we don't speak like that.

I agree Ann. She writes as though she was the wronged party in every instance which is not particularly believable. There are two sides to every story.

The whole excerpt I find quite tacky and not interesting. Does it all have to be about sex, bitching and arguments? It really did not make me want to buy it. I'm a pretty positive person and I found reading just that bit quite depressing.

I remember Louis Spence saying the same thing on some chat show.. that although a show can look glamorous, often the professional dancers on stage are farting like drayhorses during strenuous moves - and everyone knows that and accepts it.

I think pro dancers have to end up so uninhibited about their bodies.. not just the touching etc of other dancers, but the farting thing, the timing of bodily functions generally... I remember Frankie saying that on performance days the girls get 'stitched into their costumes' (which look skimpy, but are actually very substantial) early on and then go into hair/make up etc.. and whenever she wanted to have a wee, she'd have to go to a wardrobe lady and get her bottom half 'unstitched', relieve herself and then get stitched back in again..

Which does rather raise the question of how Ola was able to just 'throw her clothes' back on after that bout of marital passion. Unless she didn't happen to be wearing a 'stitched in' costume that evening of course..

As you write, feisty. But they seem the type who might have a huge row then be friends again a short time later then arguing again the next day rather than brooding over it for years and writing a book about it.

I am sure that I have heard Scottish people using 'laddie' in that way. A quick search brings up a few articles about Connolly using it but can't find an exact quote from him.

BIB, I agree that conversations like this happened because if they didn`t the lawyers would be out in force, but we don`t know the tone, when I read this today I envisaged drunk people at the bar and Craig sacastically saying how Arlene was crap at her job, and Darcy faking shock and horror at his comments telling him to shut up, and re the Len quote again an off the cuff drunk sarcastic remark. I think Ola`s book is sensationalist clap trap, that allures to the antics and comments of people on the show. The Karen comment that Ola won`t repeat what Karen said because she denies it, I`m sorry, there were witnesses to the alleged bullying so if Ola wanted to give out the details she could as Karen would have no legal leg to stand on, however I think more the fact is that , Yes, they argued and yes nasty things were said, but I don`t believe for one minute it was one sided, Ola has never come across as some quiet wallflower, she lives with james she can give as good as she get I imagine !

Well said there are far too many people on here who act like the Judge and the Jury with only their biased opinion to be considered and if they have nothing to back up their opinions it does not matter. Balance what is balance when you can spout bile for the sake of it. And they call the Jordan's nasty. Oh dear.
