Maybe Connolly did use it to tell a story but I have never heard a Glaswegian say to another man "laddie". Maybe 100 years ago but not in this day and age.

Yes, but to be fair, when did you last hear anyone talk like they are supposed to in The Book?

Obviously I'm not going to dismiss the Jordan's account as nonsense either for this reason. Some people really need to get their head out of the clouds and stop pointing the finger in one direction only.”

Well, the Jordans do for a start. So everyone is bitchy EXCEPT Ola .. okay!
This book is a complete bitch fest .. why the need to publish it? Why have others managed to leave and not completely trash the programme? The programme that has given them a very nice life thank you very much indeed.
Why do we need to hear that her and James had sex in the dressing room? (if indeed it ever took place outside of their imagination.) It's just rubbish sensationalism and tacky!
Why does she have the right to talk about other people, celebs and suchlike!?
Whatever goes on behind the scenes .. should be private between them but it was only too clear that they were going to kiss and tell in the most repulsive way. And, to put the tin hat on it, it's not even written well .. it's hogwash!

We all knew about the argument with Karen .. because 'somehow' it got leaked! Ola and James milked it until it went dry .. poor little Ola .. nasty old Karen!
I'm not a fan of the Cliftons but completely on Karen's side here. Long day, diva behaviour and a few home truths as to why Ola's (always) at the back (that's my guess and I trust it more than the Jordan's version that's for sure.)
Can anyone truly remember any of her routines?? Apart from the one she didn't choreograph!

I remember when they put their house up for sale they made sure Ola's trophy was pride of place in the living room.

Ola is at least going for the "Awful sex" prize in the book.

Quite sad really, The Jordans where known for their ability on the dance floor while they were on Strickly. Now they will be remembered for the book and bad mouthing their ex employers.

Would another dance programe take a risk employing them?

Why have you read the whole book if is so bad and if you have not read the whole book but said above the whole book is a complete bitch fest perhaps you should get story right or is it just a case of throwing bile for the sake of it.

She would say that, wouldn't she?

I don't believe her anyway as there is no way she can know that and Amazon's call centre wouldn't/couldn't tell her either.

It's #538 in Books, not sure if it's good or bad.

Ugh, this book sounds awful.

It is number 24 in the pre-order chart, though.

(Don't know how many have to be ordered to be there.)

I have to say that the cover photo looks really odd, it doesn't look like Ola at all to me.

No ... I wouldn't ever buy the book. Ola and James' reputation goes before them .. they've got nothing positive to say about Strictly and haven't had for a while (around about the time their wages dried up.) We've already had a few sound bites and now this excerpt.
You can't keep using the word 'bile' in every post. You're making it redundant plus you're being selective. Ola is incapable of spewing or spouting or throwing bile according to you but that's just what her and James do. That's their full time job now! (and always was though James was more up front about it than Ola.)
You can't expect people not to react. They put it out there ... they should expect a reaction and I imagine that's what they want. Heaven forbid that people should stop talking about them!! Last thing they want.

They actually encourage people to troll the Clifton's!!! Nice! And not bile-ish at all!! James' weekly Twitter critiques are nothing but throwing bile!! It's a bile fest. Bilearama! They do not have exclusive rights over bile spewing ... some will inevitably come back at them ... like it does with Katie Hopkins.

I'm all biled out now. Bilious!

You are the one that said the book is a complete bitch feat and you have not read it how very strange. If you are going to make claims about a book you have not read I am afraid you opinion is nothing more than assumption to suit your agenda..

Yes I've gone out on a complete limb in thinking that Ola and hubby would ever resort to bitchiness. They've never let me down though and I trust them to keep biting away at the hand that fed them.

At times like these, it's always a good idea to remember Flavia! Restores your faith in ex Strictly pros. Class!!

I love the comments under the excerpt ... hilarious!!

I only made it as far as,

Quote:
“ 'Ola, you look amazing', James said, pulling me towards him and looking at me longingly in my little sparkly dress. I could tell immediately what was on his mind.”

I can only imagine the delight of the person who has to select the book from which Charles Dance will read in The Big Fat Quiz of the Year. Whatever else is published this year, nothing can possibly top this effort for sheer, unadulterated, godawful drivel.

I used to like Ola . She always seemed in James's shadow and I kind of felt sorry for her in that respect . I was certain she'd leave him eventually . Silly me , she just allowed his abrasive attitude to rub off onto her and these days she's become rather less than the little angel I used to like watching .
I believe the bitching though . For sure in dancing it can get nasty, as in most competitive situations .
On that note , my pal is on the dance circuit with her daughter (and daughter's boy partner ) and she says that AJ and his partner Chloe are absolutely adorable and very very friendly and approachable . Always nice to get good reports on dancers , especially new ones .

Oh dear! Having skimmed through the excerpt I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It was so totally ridiculous and childish. How much of it is true, or not, is only known by those who were present at the times of the various "tales" Ola has recounted.

Unfortunately Strictly is possibly the worst thing that has happened to the Jordans in career terms. Prior to Strictly they were known as good (though not particularly great) dancers, and well respected as coaches - especially James.

To call these excerpts cheap and tawdry would be an insult to everything that is cheap and tawdry. You don't always like the job you do or the people you work with, but at the end of the day, if it wasn't for Strictly none of the professional dancers would be able to enjoy all the fame and the perks that come with it which James and Ola take for granted - the tours, the books, the invitation to appear in other reality shows, etc.

James left the show years ago, but still sees fit to criticise and tear the show to shreds every chance he gets. It's now getting so tired, boring and predictable - it's a shame that now Ola has decided to follow suit.

Next "career" move?
One of those "stolen" porn tapes like Pamela Anderson?
Or is that too classy for them?
