Britney has a vast back catalog and as opposed to ranking her albums in order from best to worst, how about ranking your top 10 singles of hers and top 20 album tracks? She has such a large number of songs I thought 10 album tracks would be too small a number, and 20 gives us more leeway. Then once you've done, add the points up in a similar manner to how I have, to see your albums ranked in order! I have to say, you may surprise yourself! I was saying in another Britney thread that Femme Fatale was my favourite album of hers, but not according to this!

Here are her singles to remind you, grouped in rough eras:

Baby One More Time
1 Baby One More Time
2 Sometimes
3 (You Drive Me) Crazy
4 Born to Make You Happy
5 From the Bottom of My Broken Heart

Oops
6 Oops! I Did it Again
7 Lucky
8 Stronger
9 Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know

Britney
10 I'm a Slave 4 U
11 Overprotected
12 I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman
13 Boys, 14 I Love Rock N Roll

In The Zone
15 Me Against the Music
16 Toxic
17 Everytime
18 Outrageous

Greatest Hits
19, My Prerogative
20 Do Somethin'
21 (Someday) I will Understand

Blackout
22 Gimme More
23 Piece of Me
24 Break the Ice

Circus
25 Womanizer
26 Circus
27 If U Seek Amy
28 Radar
29 3

Femme Fatale
30 Hold It Against Me
31 Till the World Ends
32 I Wanna Go
33 Criminal
34 Scream & Shout
35 Ooh La La

Britney Jean
36 Work B*tch
37 Perfume
38 Pretty Girls

Glory
39 Make Me (Oooh)

So here goes, my top 10 singles in order would be:

1. Born to Make You Happy
2. Hold It Against Me
3. Piece of Me
4. If U Seek Amy
5. Till the World Ends
6. I Wanna Go
7. Gimme More
8. Overprotected
9. Stronger
10. 3

My top 20 album tracks (separate to singles)

1. It Should Be Easy (BJ)
2. Mannequin (Circus)
3. Till It's Gone (BJ)
4. Body Ache (BJ)
5. What U See (Is What U Get) (Oops)
6. Cinderella (Britney)
7. Bombastic Love (Britney)
8. Unusual You (Circus)
9. (Get Naked ) I Got a Plan (Blackout)
10. Kill the Lights (Circus)
11. Lonely (Britney)
12. Let Me Be (Britney)
13. Shattered Glass (Circus)
14. Coupure Electrique (Glory)
15. If I'm Dancing (Glory)
16. Seal It With a Kiss (FF)
17. Can't Make You Love Me (Oops)
18. Freakshow (Blackout)
19. I Will be There (Baby)
20. Shadow (ITZ)

As far as album tracks combined with singles go, that means her albums for me (at least subconsciously) rank in this order:

Joint 1st place - Circus (1 single + 4 album tracks) = 5
Joint 1st place - Britney (1 single + 4 album tracks) = 5
Joint 3rd place - Femme Fatale (3 singles + 1 album track) = 4
Joint 3rd place - Blackout (2 singles + 2 album tracks) = 4
Joint 5th place - Britney Jean (0 singles + 3 album tracks) = 3
Joint 5th place - Oops! I Did It Again (1 single + 2 album tracks) = 3
Joint 7th place - Glory (0 singles + 2 album tracks) = 2
Joint 7th place - Baby One More Time (1 single + 1 album track) = 2
9th place - In the Zone (0 singles + 1 album track) = 1

Interesting observations - Despite Britney Jean having 3 tracks in my top 4 album tracks of hers, the album still as a whole only managed 5 joint place - it was also a poor era for singles. Compared to the rest of her career, for me Femme Fatale is the strongest era for singles. Another interesting this is that my favourite songs from Glory are bonus tracks. In the Zone is clearly my least favourite album of hers and I would say that is probably reflective in this, only 1 song from that album appeared, scraping in it number 20 in album tracks. I expected to see more FF album tracks on there but only 1 featured in my top top 20 album tracks which I was shocked about, but I think I see the album as stronger because of the decent singles. I'm surprised by how high Circus and Britney are.

Would love to see other people do this!

Well I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this It's gonna be so hard picking my favourite Britney songs as I like so many! My favourites always change constantly too and that makes it harder. Anyway...

Top 10 singles
1. Gimme More
2. Slave 4 U
3. Work Bitch
4. Till The World Ends
5. Me Against The Music
6. Make Me
7. Piece of Me
8. Outrageous
9. Circus
10. Overprotected

Top 20 album tracks
1. Mannequin (Circus)
2. Lonely (Britney)
3. Breathe On Me (In The Zone)
4. Touch of My Hand (In The Zone)
5. Freakshow (Blackout)
6. Get Back (Blackout)
7. Lace and Leather (Circus)
8. The Answer (In The Zone)
9. Love Me Down (Glory)
10. Alien (Britney Jean)
11. Perfect Lover (Blackout)
12. Man On The Moon (Glory)
13. Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes) (Glory)
14. Kill The Lights (Circus)
15. Anticipating (Britney)
16. Get Naked (I Got A Plan) (Blackout)
17. Up n' Down (Femme Fatale)
18. What It's Like To Be Me (Britney)
19. Just Like Me (Glory)
20. Liar (Glory)

Most of that was based on what I listened to in the last couple of weeks. Based on this, my albums rate as follows:

1st place -> Blackout (2 singles + 4 album tracks) - 6
2nd place - Glory (1 single + 4 album tracks) - 6
3rd place - In The Zone (1 single + 4 album tracks) - 5
4th place - Britney (2 singles + 3 album tracks) - 5
5th place - Circus (1 single + 3 album tracks) - 4
6th place - Femme Fatale (1 single + 1 album track) - 2
7th place - Britney Jean (1 single + 1 album track) - 2

I couldn't fit any songs from BOMT or Oops but I guess they would rank nearer the bottom. Not sure if I added it right though, I'm useless at maths!

Glory is joint 1st place with Blackout for you, as there are 5 album tracks you have ranked top 20 from Glory. Nice selection!

I wouldn't class Pretty girls as apart of the Britney jean era?

In fact, Pretty girls was recorded with the Glory era sessions. But it seems britney and her label have disowned it.

Either way I doubt it will fall into anyone's top 20!

Nice to see your selection! Mannequin is the most popular album track so far based on 3 entries! I was surprised by how high Oops was for me too, I wouldn't have thought it would be higher than In the Zone for me, but I guess it's true based on the songs I like! In the Zone and Femme Fatale tying for you is interesting, as they are both stylistically so different!

I've come up with a different point system if you think this is better/more accurate. Let me know what you think! Singles are worth 2 points the higher the placing, just so that they were worth an equal amount to album tracks. This will change the placing of the albums dramatically, but it might make the findings more accurate.

1. Born to Make You Happy (+20 Baby One More Time)
2. Hold It Against Me (+18 Femme Fatale)
3. Piece of Me (+16 Blackout)
4. If U Seek Amy (+14 Circus)
5. Till the World Ends (+12 Femme Fatale)
6. I Wanna Go (+10 Femme Fatale)
7. Gimme More (+8 Blackout)
8. Overprotected (+6 Britney)
9. Stronger (+4 Oops I Did It Again)
10. 3 (+2 N/A)

My top 20 album tracks (separate to singles)

1. It Should Be Easy (+20 Britney Jean)
2. Mannequin (+19 Circus)
3. Till It's Gone (+18 Britney Jean)
4. Body Ache (+17 Britney Jean)
5. What U See (Is What U Get) (+16 Oops I Did it Again)
6. Cinderella (+15 Britney)
7. Bombastic Love (+14 Britney)
8. Unusual You (+13 Circus)
9. (Get Naked ) I Got a Plan (+12 Blackout)
10. Kill the Lights (+11 Circus)
11. Lonely (+10 Britney)
12. Let Me Be (+9 Britney)
13. Shattered Glass (+8 Circus)
14. Coupure Electrique (+7 Glory)
15. If I'm Dancing (+6 Glory)
16. Seal It With a Kiss (+5 Femme Fatale)
17. Can't Make You Love Me (+4 Oops I Did it Again)
18. Freakshow (+3 Blackout)
19. I Will be There (+2 Baby One More Time)
20. Shadow (+1 In The Zone)

1st place - Circus (65)
2nd place - Britney Jean (55)
3rd place - Britney (54)
4th place - Femme Fatale (45)
5th place - Blackout (39)
6th place - Oops! I Did It Again (24)
7th place - Baby One More Time (22)
8th place - Glory (13)
9th place - In the Zone (1)

Let me know which point system you think is more reflective!

Took some work but I got there in the end! Love this idea!

Singles

Til the World Ends
Toxic
Gimme More
Piece of Me
Everytime
I'm a Slave for You
Womanizer
Circus
Baby One More Time
Oops I Did it Again

Songs

Inside Out
Showdown
Shattered Glass
Trouble for Me
Out from Under
Change your Mind (No Seas Cortes)
Body Ache
Liar
Gasoline
Do you Wanna Come Over
It Should be Easy
Kill the Lights
He about to Lose Me
Alien
Just Luv Me
Seal it with a Kiss
Don’t Keep me Waiting
Breathe on Me
Early Mornin
Up n Down

So Based on pure numbers, my list goes like this...

1st - Femme Fatale - 8 (1 single, 7 songs)
2nd - In the Zone - 5 (2 singles, 3 songs)
2nd - Circus - 5 (2 singles, 3 songs)
4th - Glory - 4 (0 singles, 4 songs)
5th - Britney Jean - 3 (0 singles, 3 songs)
6th - Blackout - 2 (2 singles, 0 songs)
7th - Baby One More Time (1 single, 0 songs)
7th - Oops I did it Again (1 single, 0 songs)
7th - Britney (1 single, 0 songs)

But with the points system, it goes...

1st - Femme Fatale (87)
2nd - Circus (57)
3rd - In the Zone (54)
4th - Glory (45)
5th - Britney Jean (31)
6th - Blackout (30)
7th - Britney (10)
8th - Baby One More Time (4)
9th - Oops I did it Again (2)

Femme Fatale was always gonna be top for me cause its genuinely my favourite album of hers and when I fell in love with her too. Circus/ITZ at 2nd/3rd isn't surprising either.

Accurate listing I'd say for me

Glad you like it! If more people do it, I will tally up the findings at the end. I'm not sure if it's accurate or not, I would say Femme Fatale was my favourite too, but apparently not according to this I think it's because the singles were so strong from FF, and accompanied with the great videos I have fond memories of that era, which maybe ranks it high in my mind-set as an album, when there are a lot of tracks from her career I would put above FF.

Interestingly, as far as album tracks go, 'Up N Down', 'Breathe On Me', 'Mannequin' and 'Alien' are tied as the most popular currently, all from different albums.
