Sick of Nick Tilsley

How much more of this "poor me" act must we stand, he is the ultimate hypocrite. Listening to him listing all Steve's faults was ironic considering his past. This was the man who purposely got Peter, an alcoholic, drinking again so he could break up his relationship with Leanne. Not forgetting he slept with his own brothers wife. But St Nick always ends up getting what he wants. Two minutes ago he was marrying Carla and would have been living in Devon with her happily ever after..........miles away from the "soulmate he has alway loved" Leanne.

Yeah but can you really blame him tho?

Also they both thought their relationships were over and were both pissed

I didn't know he started making Peter drink again but maybe that was before I watched the show regularly

Ive always liked Nick and I think Ben Price plays him well

He does always end up with what he wants. As soon as he'd had enough of tormenting Leanne and Steve, he just expected them to be ok with him and grateful, and they were

It was pathetic of Leanne to be so grateful when he turned up with those tickets

I really hope she waits till he's feeling all secure and then cheats on him.

Why the hell they've gone straight from Nick/Carla back to Nick/Leanne and now the tedious baby saga is beyond me.

Same, so tired of him constantly feeling sorry for himself but still deciding to stay in the situation he hates. He hates that Leanne is pregnant with Steve's child despite him/Leanne not being together at the time. He made a song & dance about it but stayed and we all know he'll have that permanent slapped arse expression through out this sl.

I never really liked this guy (I can only call him Footballers' Wives man because I can't remember his name) so I've always been sick of him. I'd rather have Adam Rickitts back.

The problem I have with Nick is he's such an inconsistent mess of a character!!
One week he's all the downtrodden 'poor me' Nick, unlucky in love, life & every other bloody thing, next he's the confident suave businessman, next he's the scheming manipulator scamming Robert or as mentioned earlier trying to get Peter off the wagon to split him & Leanne up, next he's the devoted family man sorting out the Platt problems, next he's 'Mr Hard man' threatening Steve& playing the arrogant t**ser, next he's 'Mr Angry' when the writers remember he has a brain condition, next he's the red hot lover of Leanne (again) happy to bring up two kids neither of whom are/ will be his, then he's back to the 'woe is me' pathetic wreck again!!

I'm all for complex, multilayered characters but there has to be some sense of consistency to it all!!
This character is just a downright bloody mess!!

More or less all soap folk are complete hypocrites though and seen to forget their own pasts to suit a particular storyline.

Nick Tilsley, the man who wears an overcoat buttoned up to the neck in summer, walks around with his hands in his trouser's pockets doing God knows what, and pulling the most peculiar of faces. Run away Leanne, the guy's a weirdo!

Perfect analysis. Nick is an absolute nothing character for me. I just don't *get* him and your description probably explains why.

As a character who was born and raised on the show, he should be far better than he actually is.

Pretty much this.

It's laughable seeing Nick trying to be a hard guy. I remember when a crippled Peter (who needed walking sticks) made Nick shit himself in the destroyed Joinery by threatening to kill him.

Nick and Peter's confrontations are funny, especially as Peter always ends up owning him.

It seems forgotten that he left Leanne out of fear of hitting her again due to his "brain damage" and not long ago wanted to leave Carla over a similar thing. But now he seems rather confident his temper won't return. But no doubt we'll get recycled scenes in a year when he whines that he can't put Leanne through more pain and he doesn't want her to feel obliged to care for him and dump her for the 100th time, only for another reunion when Leanne does some crying and says she loves Nick.

You also forgot that he forced Leanne into an abortion all those years ago and then scarpered off to Canada..

The nice guy act doesn't wash with me..

Whole heartedly agree with this NDD.

Yeah there's been too much bad history between Leanne and Nick to want to root for them as a couple.

His love life is like a merry-go-round.

If Carla returns in the future I am sure he'll run straight back to her.

Why can't they just have him meet someone new (someone living away from the street) or as outrageous as it may seem let him remain single?

It kind of annoyed me when he was having a go at Steve and when Steve reminded him that his past was not so perfect either, Nick replied with, 'but this isn't about me.' Excuse me, but it bloody well IS about you if you're claiming some sort of moral high ground. Prat.

I'm not a fan of Nick at all. I really can't see what any woman would see in him, between his very awful facial expressions and annoying laugh and his arrogance (for no reason, he's nowhere near as successful or wonderful as he thinks he is). Women on the show only end up with him when they run out of other options! Carla only gave him the time of day after she'd been so worn down she settled for 'safe' and boring Nick. Leanne goes back to him when there are currently no better men on the street, or like now, she is welcoming because she could use a helping hand in the pregnancy and child rearing. I actually think if he has to stay on the show, his perfect match would be Eva. Annoying laugh, thinks she's much more desirable than she is too...made for each other!

Funnily enough he teamed up with Carla in that little scheme, she wanted Peter all to herself and didn't mind sinking a couple of bottles of red with him.
