I can print off an email from my iPad 2 no problem, but when I try to print a page from a website eg an online order, it won't do it. I use google as browser
Why, and what do I have to do?

What do you mean "it won't do it"? Do you not get the option to print, or do you print and it not come out of the printer?

What printer do you use? Is it an AirPrint compatible printer?

Not all Apps are AirPrint friendly. Though you would think Google would make their browser compatible.

What if you open the exact same webpage in Safari, will it print then? And what are you using to read e-mails? Are you using the Apple Mail app or something else? The Apple Apps are more likely to be AirPrint compatible which would explain why they work.

I'll try
I was wondering if there was something I had to do within the Google app to enable it

What version of Google Chrome (I assume this is what you mean by "Google"?) are you using. From version 26.0.1410.50 Chrome for iOS has been able to use AirPrint. When you go to print something you should get an option to use AirPrint

Have you tried screen capturing the page in question and printing that?

Either my Google skills are seriously lacking or there really is sod all information out there on t'interweb but I can't find an up to date list of apps that are AirPrint compatible. HP have one from 2010 but that doesn't include Chrome which has been AirPrint compatible since 2013.

It could be that the Google search app simply isn't Airprint enabled. If it isn't then you will just have to wait and hope Google get round to enabling it.

The alternative is to copy the URL from the Google App then paste it into Chrome or Safari. Not sure what a screen capture on an iPad actually captures (don't have one to hand to try) but if it only captures the visible part of the page you might miss some parts or have to do multiple captures to get the whole page. By copying and pasting the URL you should be able to print the entire webpage in one go.
