Quote:
“Kimberley Harmony Angelica "Kim" Fox-Hubbard (also Fox) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Tameka Empson. She is the half-sister of Denise Fox (Diane Parish), and aunt to Chelsea Fox (Tiana Benjamin) and Libby Fox (Belinda Owusu). She first appeared as a guest character on 24 November 2009, and was reintroduced in 2010 as a regular character after piquing the interest of new executive producer Bryan Kirkwood. Empson took maternity leave in October 2013 and after appearing several times during her break via webcam, Kim returned to Albert Square on 30 December 2014.[3][4][5][6][7]

Kim is described as "viscous and bubbly" on the outside, but hiding vulnerability and low self-esteem.”

She's popular with a lot of casual viewers, great in interviews, and is actually pretty decent in more dramatic scenes when she's given the chance. I don't see what the issue is with her, personally.

Backtracking on my comment

I have seen some of the dramatic scenes and yes she has been good when given the chance but i don't find her funny.

I love Kim and Tameka! I've loved Tameka in everything she has done but she was made for EastEnders.

I like her as a character but would find her to be a nightmare in real life, as in if I knew someone who behaved like her.

I love Kim.

Like many other things, I don't get the "hate" for her on this forum but then I don't think the DS Soap Forum is really the demographic that would find Kim hilarious. All of my family love her. She's definitely a popular character away from this forum though. SOC better not sack her.

I don't think so,

I think she has a big storyline coming up.

Empson can be fine in the more dramatic scenes, but she is a bit OTT in her 'comedy' scenes.

They should give her and Vincent something to do though.

I really like Kim. She is funny but can do serious when needed. I hope she stays a long time.

Completely agree! I enjoy it when Kim is toned down and has more serious scenes. She was great when she had Pearl and was worried when her baby being ill.

She has an upcoming storyline where Tameka said: ‘It’s going to be hard to play, as in real life I’m very good at the thing Kim is going to be doing – but Kim is not! I’m hoping the nation will be behind her new journey, because while it will be emotional for her, the audience might find it funny.’

I love Kim, especially as i know people like her character (minus the loud clothes). I never forgot how happy i was when she made her comeback (her return from the cruise) as the show was missing someone of her humour. She also complements Denise and Patrick well.

I only wish they had better choices of boyfriends (and actors that played them). I could see an actor like Vas Blackwood playing her slightly older chancer of a boyfriend who is always scheming but always winning Kim round with expenisve gifts. i know that it is similer to Richard Blackwoods character but i think Vas looks better in that role and is a better and more experienced actor.

Also think they could of made a good grouping with her, Kat and Bianca getting drunk in and around the square and having a good time....maybe there is still time.

Same, it was perfect casting. Hoping she gets more roles offered to her when she has a break or leaves Eastenders.
