There seems to be no clarity either within the DS community or from EE themselves about the stage of the 800 rollout. I thought it might be worth seeing if there was any enthusiasm for carrying out a bit of our own non-scientific research to get a better handle on it.

Therefore, if you're an EE mobile user and feel so inclined, please post a response to this with the following details / format and we should start to get a general picture:

Location - first part of postcode
Phone model
EE-sourced or SIM-free?
800 accessible? Y/N
VoLTE accessible? Y/N

I guess if we could try and keep this thread just for the results as above it would make more sense - we can carry on debating / bickering / discussing it on the main EE thread...

I'll kick it off in the next reply with my unsurprising results....

How far are you from DevonBloke as he seems to get reasonable service where he is?

800 (where installed) and VoLTE accessible whether EE sourced or not.
Mr Bumpkin, you should have added, "Smug iPhone users need not apply"!

You've missed the point here a little Devon! It's not to assess the phones capability of picking up VoLTE/800 so much, but where it picks it up...

Hence...

800 (where installed) and VoLTE accessible whether EE sourced or not.
...isn't bloody useful!

800 accessible? No, have never seen it on my phone, although it can access it if available
VoLTE accessible? Yes (because iPhone)

Three 800 is available here, but no EE 800.

I do. I have to drive by about 4 times a day in the LDV Superpumpvan such is the level of data use.

You should just park the spare superpumpvan outside and leave it there permanently with his usage.

Moto G 1st Generation
Moto G 3rd Generation
Samsung S5 3ROM
LG G4
None VoLTE therefore.
I use EE 800MHz multiple times each day on my travels around Surrey (mainly Guildford parts) and have also used 800MHz both with and without CA in Tavistock, around Totnes and on the journey to Devon. I also use EE's 4G 800MHz on the journey to Brighton.

Set Cellmapper to EE 800MHz and it's possible to see that EE has a lot of live 800MHz masts in my area!
