Weirdly when I use the debugger in firefox using the coverage checker, if I just put the town name "Oakham" it shows 4g800 strength 4. But if I search my postcode (which is located in Oakham anyway and in line of site of the mast) it show 4g800 strength 0.

Anyone got any ideas why they might be different?

Moto G 1st gen 4g
EE-sourced or SIM-free? Sim free
800 accessible? Y
VoLTE accessible? Wouldn't know.

Trying EE on their MTV trax promotion, and been so far unimpressed with it. I get better coverage and speed on Tesco Mobile (running on O2 tier 2 4G).

Have they done that damn pylon yet? Or have I already asked you that? or is that the one you're on about?
I wasn't on about that one but last time I was there it was still 3G, I probably won't go back near there 'till the end of the year, hopefully it's done by then

I think I remember hearing that the 4G800 strength in the code can't be relied upon; it only works for place names and always gives the same strength value as 3G. I'd advise looking at masts in your local area, and looking at planning applications in your local area on your councils website to get an idea of what masts may get 800.

Annoyingly the intel modem in my iPhone 7 doesn't support field test mode, so I'll never know now if I'm using 800.
