Duffy - Comeback?
adziee

Anyone heard if she's going to release any new music?

I heard something a while back that she was planning a comeback but it never seemed to materialise, which was a great shame. I love Duffy, and both albums, Rockferry is one of the best of the century for me.

Genuinely think her time has passed. One of those voices that eventually grates on you after the debut album (a bit like that lass out of The Cranberries and, here's a prediction, Sam Smith )

I really liked her contributions to the Legend soundtrack last year and still listen to them now. Proven to me she has still got it. I'd hoped that was paving the way for a comeback, but it's been a year now soo who knows? I'd welcome something new.

I'd welcome a return for her. I reckon with the right material she'd have a big hit.

I'd love for her to return. She updated her instagram around April time of her recording music but no word on what's what.

I do hope so. I absolutely love Stepping Stone!

I loved her, including the second album for which I don't understand the hate. A comeback would be most welcome.

I thought the same as soon as I heard her, I said to myself, "She won't last."

My future father-in-law said the same about Elvis Presley, he was right too....eventually.

Yep, I never got the hate directed at her. Loved the first album especially.

I really like both of Duffys albums but for me the diet coke moment was in hindsight career suicide! Time has passed and I would love to hear new music from her, I dont think she will ever have a big hit single again but with the right marketing I can see another successful album under her belt yet.

Well if Craig David can make a comeback I suppose anything is possible..

Always wondered how much of her first album was her and how much Bernard Butler (ex Suede the Producer)

His wiki page gives this quote :
She [Duffy] went off the rails and it all went pear-shaped for her. And maybe she brought all those problems on herself. But I always had quite a lot of sympathy for her, because she was young, from this tiny village in Wales, and she was just hurled into the fire.

That's... a generous interpretation.
