I'm sure you'll remind me.. But again the 'talent' contracts were also up for renewal. Now it's heading to C4, that's no longer the Bbc's problem.
Are you not able to recall a post you made not a few hours ago or the post you have just read and snipped, therefore deliberately missing out the very claim you made, which in turn led you to say 'I'm sure you'll remind me'

It is worth reminding people that this company was behind Benefits Street (demonising those on benefits) plus Immigration Street. The residents of Immigration Street certainly weren't pleased to see Love Productions:

![]() And it increasingly looks like they will keep all the "talent" while Channel 4 gets a nice tent. With 'they' being the Bbc.. Why would the Bbc be interested in keeping any of the 'talent'? (oh, and check skp20040's comment as well..) |

What nonsense?
https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-r...itish-bake-off They presented Channel 4’s comedy talk show Light Lunch, which was moved to a primetime slot in 1999 and renamed Late Lunch. In 2015, they were given their own ITV chat show. Such is broadcasting. And Bbc fanatics. But perhaps the duo realised there were only so many baking related innuendos they could stretch, and bailed before it got to shark jumping. |

Perhaps as a a cathartic compromise to disappointed Bake Off fan's the BBC could broadcast a special one off of the two chief bosses of LOVE Productions locked in a house with Mary Berry attacking them with various kitchen utensils like a spatula, rolling pin and cookie cutters?!
![]() ![]() ![]() But given neither of them with their BBC2 sitcom could beat Stefan 'Don't It Make You Feel Good' Dennis or Julie Kavner in ratings this year, despite the 10pm slot, the Versailles lead-in and all the publicity Paris has had and Denise, her ex-husband and 2 sons have had (and in the latter's case, continue to have- no doubt that lot will have more after The Mercury Prize then) probably a recipe for disaster. |

I'll just leave this little nugget here ![]() Quote:
(It's also slightly amusing that the people crying 'betrayal' forget the Bbc poached Mel & Sue from C4 in the first place)

C4 could hire Denise Welch and Paris Lees to present the Great British Bake Off.

It's an open forum Hamlet. If I or anyone else posts something that it factually untrue in order to bolster a personal view or further a personal agenda or just plain old making it up on the spot, it is only fair that other posters can correct it is it not?

They could even hire Chris Evans. There's not exactly a shortage of presenters, but as Top Gear found out, hiring the right ones can be tricky. I think it's unlikely C4 would have bought the show without having alternate presenters in mind though.

They've bought the world's most expensive broom but by the time they get it both the handle and the brush have been swapped and it's no longer a special magic broom, just a rather ordinary one that can't quite get into the corners properly.

The reaction about the BBC losing this show is laughable and over the top. You would think someone had died

What has happened to Channel4!!
This once innovative channel of the 80's and 90's has been reduced to stealing 'GBBO' from the BBC! I know that this may sound a bit radical and controversial to the big-wigs at C4 but why not save the money on 'GBBO' and spend it on new drama and comedy. Just a thought!!!

Every TV channels in the world would kill for a localised version of Bake Off, that is equally succesful, its demos may skew a little older than some channels would like but its no means a deal breaker. |
