I don't know how I feel about this? As we saw last week they couldn't handle a pathetic gang and needed the help of Grant and Mark to wave a baseball bat around in order to scare them away! Now it seems EE has decided to push these two for a future storyline carrying on the Phil and Grant stuff, I really expected SOC to move away from this but this is obviously his work and decision to push this new agenda.

Not a good sign of things to come.

Oh for God's sake - when Philth and Grunt first entered the square they were small time chancers who could handle themselves in a punch up - nothing more.

I like Ben/Jay friendship but I hope they don't turn them into Mitchell brothers.

Seems like EE is going to continue being in trouble as this is the first signs of where SOC wants to take the Mitchell family. I know they are quite popular characters but Jay and Ben just cannot be taken seriously as wannabe gangsters, despite how they try and portray them.

I feared this was the path they were taking and now this is going to happen. I think I'd have preferred it if Jay left and they refreshed the Mitchell family away from this type of stuff. Hopefully SOC sees sense and realises this is not what the show should be about.

That's as maybe but on Jamie's instagram there is a hashtag to David bailey having done the photo.

Its too professional a shot and why would they both tag it to their instagram pages with the same tagline? I beg to differ, also look at the lighting and the background, way too good for just a selfie.

David Bailey took the famous photo of the Krays. I would suggest that's why they referenced it. Harry and Jamie (particularly Harry) are always referencing the Krays on Instagram.

I don't think EastEnders have the cash to splash out on David Bailey for their photoshoots.

I agree, thought it was strange. I just don't get why these two are pushing this agenda though? It must be with the consent of the show because that seems to be the direction they look to be taking with them. I still say the shot looks very professional and wouldn't be surprised to see this used in some promo shot in the near future.

what bugs me most about this is.... Ben and Jay aren't brothers!!! they never were brothers and they never will be brothers!! simple!!! its just pathetic and all this "bruv" c**p from Ben is beyond cringeworthy

Just because Jay wasn't adopted it doesn't mean they can't consider themselves brothers. For years all they've had is each other. They've stuck together, lied for each other and have been the only stability in each others lives.

As for this whole thing about needing brawn to be gangsters, that's a thing of the past. Gone are the days of running around with sawn off shotguns robbing banks. Whatever direction they take them in now I will always consider them brothers...they have the best and most convincing bond of anyone on the show.
