Roll on, I'm equally as excited to Meet Mom as I no doubt you are. Also pondering Maze's role going forward, cause I suspect she's the one that let Mom out.

I barely gave any thought to the fact that Maze wasn't there at the end of the finale, but most of the vague spoilers out there suggest that it's highly significant. I don't think she would deliberatly let Mum out, she might be (very) frustrated with Lucifer at times but ultimately she cares more for his wellbeing than her own, and letting out Mum against his wishes doesn't fit that pattern to me.

I think the dynamic between Lucifer and his Mum is going to be great, the clips that are out there seem a bit mixed, on one hand she reminds me of Chloe's Mum where she's acting like a teenager and on the other she's got the devil himself terrified.

Don't wish away the time too quickly though, 2 weeks until thesis hand in day Thank Lucifer I've got Lucifer to look forward to

Oh I doubt Maze would have let her out intentionally, maybe Mom tricked her, and then kidnapped her?

That and the dynamic between Mom and Dad (surely he's got to show up at some point?) One does have to wonder why Mom was locked away in the first place, no doubt we'll find out all about that in due course, but if she's that much of a threat, then surely Dad would help his sons lock her away again? And if she's is the Mother of all Angels (and Archangels alike) then shouldn't she be somewhat equal in power to Dad/God himself?

I love speculation.

I know. We are completely spoilt for geeks shows these days.

In fact as a busy person I find it very difficult to watch all the shows I like.

And it's only getting worse.

Looks like it'll be as dull and old fashioned as the first season was

Interesting to know what you define as dull and old fashioned about a TV series based on a set of widely lauded graphic novels even if they're not following them slavishly.

Found this site with a description of the second episode: http://www.ksitetv.com/lucifer/lucif...r-liar/120967/

Episode sounds good but there is terrible news!! The second ep won't be shown until 3rd Oct because of some stupid presidential debate America really needs to get their priorities straight

Worst thing EVER when they show an episode and then there's a gap! GAH!!!!!!!

Why bother showing just ONE episode on its own!

The end song made me laugh, i recognised the first few keys of it as it's one of my favourites but thought nothing of it until the last second. Very nice little nod

What a brilliant opening episode which neatly sets up all the major thread points for the story narrative we're going to be getting in Season Two.

It's two days after the season finale and Lucifier and Amenadiel are in shock following the revelation their mum's escaped from Hell, Chloe's still coming to terms with seeing Lucifer bleeding out and surviving, Maze is still missing and there's the usual police procedural to kick things off.

The murder around which this episode is set works well as an introduction to the theme of motherhood which we're likely to get throughout Season Two and there's the usual humour surrounding Lucifer's absolute belief that everything which is happening is being directed at him and is his mother's doing.

The opening scene was one of the funniest they've done in a while and I absolutely adore the dynamic DB and Tom have when they're playing the brothers working together, also loved Amenadiel's sneaky little bit with Chloe which I won't go into detail on so I don't spoil it.

Very much liking the new forensic scene of crime officer they introduced, interesting angle to make her a believer, looks like she's going to be providing Chloe with another perspective on whether or not Lucifer is telling the truth.

Humour in bucket loads, also the usual pathos as Lucifer struggles to express what he's feeling to Dr Linda and a tour de force version of All Along the Watchtower from Ellis as mother finally shows up at the end makes this a superb return.

Annoyingly it's a two week wait now for the second episode, pesky US elections and all that eh

Interesting some of the papers have started to review it after the show was pretty much ignored for all of Season One.
Telegraph review.

It was very clever

Haven't seen it yet Amazon were either slow off the mark or got told off for showing it at midnight last series but it hadn't appeared by the time I went to bed at 2.10am.
I should point out that bedtime was imposed by the thesis, not Lucifer, but compulsive checking of Amazon didn't help!

Noooooooooooo. I've not been able to watch it yet and it's too late to watch it now.

Honestly, it's the first show of the new season (proper) and I'm already behind... Gah!

Amenadiel really annoyed me there, I know it was what needed to be done but I want the opposite! Also, it implies Lucifer lied and it's important to me that she knows he doesn't do that

Aww, she threw it away! They better not leave that plot thread there.

Prefer this new song for the end credits, the old one was far too lighthearted, generic cop show.

Great to have this show back!

Loved the episode, though not entirely sure what results Chloe would have got from Lucy's blood. It's hardly about to pop up on the database with a label attached saying "I am the blood of an Archangel". It would only open up more questions, surely?

Also, Dad seems like a bit of a dick here..

Annoyingly it's a two week wait now for the second episode, pesky US elections and all that eh.
Oh for the love of God...

Would rather them have held off on showing season two for two weeks more if they were going to do this. One episode? Sooooooooo annoying.

She didn't believe him though and told Lucifer that she didn't buy it so she's obviously still not convinced.

I'm assuming it wouldn't have been human at all, i.e. not O, A, AB etc and yes, that would have led to a whole other set of questions, hence Amenadiel's comment about angelic blood in the LAPD database

I was happy when she said that but by the time they'd finished talking about eggs I was a bit lost as to where she stood on the matter. I need to rewatch at a more sociable hour!

The main character is called Lucifer and he runs a club. That is pretty much the only things they've taken from the comics. They couldn't be more different in style and story.
