Well I thought girls night was sparkling good fun and this ep was just generally a riot all round.
And I'm with Mom on all this gluten talk !!!! Interesting development following Amenadiel's pronouncement, the Old Testament version of the Almighty was very much a vengeful deity so I
Spoiler
Loved the contrasting bar scenes with the girls and the boys, really felt for Chloe when she found out about the bet, really liking Ella as well, she fits into the dynamic of the police work well but also dodn't feel out of place with the girls. Maze is awesome, her origin story bit was brilliantly played, poor Amenadiel as well. Wonder where they're taking his wings failing plot. If he has no working wings, how will he meet his angelic requirements?! Loved the use of the music in this episode as always and the scene with Maze and Mamalotte was seriously funny. |

I must admit, I'd love to see another Angel on the show. I wonder though whether it would be more likely for Michael to appear than Uriel. Wasn't Michael the one who originally sent Lucifer to Hell?

Well, he lasted long, didn't he?
Another Angel (Azrael?) mentioned in this episode too, with any luck we'll see her at some point. I do hope that (considering what's just happened) Lucy feels tormented by his actions. Was also a little ... selfish(?) of him to just ditch Amenadiel in his time of need too. No doubt more consequences there. Also interesting that Angels are acting on their own accord here (Uriel) and not specifically following the word of God, who has otherwise been quite absent. I do wonder (endgame) whether Mom and Dad will both be killed off. Mom kills Dad, and Lucy kills Mom kind of setup. |

Well that was pretty damn good.
I'd have liked to have seen more of Uriel but have to say that Tom was fantastic in this...interesting to see what happens next week, there must surely be major repercussions. Only thing that bothers me is how the hell mum gets away with pretending to be a wife and business woman. |

Presumably (and I'm merely speculating here) but I figure she can tap into the memories of the host, thus knows how to run a business (because it has no emotion or immediate needs), but she's not so great at being a mother because kids are unpredictable.

It would make a funny episode if we saw more of her life as a housewife...or maybe she could go on girls night out 2...

Long time no post, finally free of the thesis and absolutely buzzing about this episode!
- Love the nod to Gaiman with the Coraline bedtime story - How amazing was Tom in that final scene His reaction was so human, it's really true that he's not evil, he just punishes evil. Which I suppose means he must now punish himself?- Love Uriel's use of patterns. Chaos theory as as murder weapon kept this episode full of suspense until the very end. - How amazing was that fight scene? ![]() - A bit sudden but Lucifer and Dan made a cute couple ![]() - So good it's worth mentioning twice, I'm replaying the final scene and Lucifer's emotion is breaking my heart ![]() - Anyone else find it odd to hear Charisma Carpenter talking about Wesley? ![]() - Amenadiels admittance of his failure was very hard to watch, as was Lucifer's dismissal of it. Although I think Luci will be there for him and they'll make a good team. - Mum better be on the level now Lucifer's sacrificed so much for her. |

I do wonder (endgame) whether Mom and Dad will both be killed off. Mom kills Dad, and Lucy kills Mom kind of setup. I got it wrong in my spoiler the other week, I thought I'd read Uriel was the eldest rather than the middle but it made far more sense him being the middle one. He was really well played as well, he felt awkward throughout but his power when in full roll was clever and scary. The fight scenes were brilliant this week, three different styles and the use of music again was superb. Lesley kicked ass big time. Also liked the contrast between the two faded movie stars actually being "brothers" in their friendship with the disparity in Luci and Amenadiel's status and both of them totally dismissing Uriel. Loved that Chloe was reading Coraline to Trixie. Gaiman is one of my all time favourite authors. Loved seeing Mark Dacascos in another superhero show, shame he didn't get to kick any butt though. Loved Charisma Carpenter's guest appearance and them making her talk about her dead love Wesley ![]() And Mamalotte was awesome again and I'm still putting money on her ending up as season villain. |

Felt liek that reveal was a bit underwhelming. Looked like a poor mans freddy kruger. Maze was scarier and if anyone would leave you frozen in the chair trembling, it would be her. Oh well. Interesting development anyway.

Self destructive Lucifer is fascinating to watch, loved this episode. I think the design of Lucifer's true face was a bit underwhelming, but recreating the devil without falling into stereotypes is a big ask. I think Linda's reaction was perfect though and I'm so glad that she's finally going to believe him, it was getting quite insulting to Lucifer that she thought he was lying to her.
Can't wait to see the proper fall out next week, love seeing how characters deal with reveals like this. Of course he did just admit to murder so that's not going to make it easier. I like to think that she knows him well enough to know that he is not evil. |

Thought that reveal was fantastic...the hope in Lucifers face and then Linda's reaction.
Still she has just found out she's been sleeping with the Prince of Darkness so I'll allow her a bit of time to pull herself together. Lucifer needs you Linda...sort it out !! Mum is playing the long game...wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her...she's turned Amenadiel against his father very subtly...it looks like Lucy is going to have to go to Dads aid at some stage. Thought the season started a bit ho hum but it's rocking now. See Fox have ordered more episodes...yay. |

I love the fact that finally Lucifer has revealed his true self to someone, though I'd think Chloe would have been more ... accepting than Linda (simply because Linda is a mere shrink, and Chloe has seen more gritty stuff, so it may not shock her so much).
I hope Linda comes around from this though, Lucifer needs her. Also slightly curious whether all Angels have true faces. I know Lucifer is from Hell and all that, but why is he red and devilish? Surely (when he was an Angel) that wasn't so? Is his true face the result of his damnation? A punishment by Dad? ...or do all Angels actually look like that? ![]() Mom is also definitely setting her kids up against dear old Dad too. I agree with the sentiment that she's untrustworthy. |

![]() Rewatched the final scene and I just love the little smile Lucifer gives. He manages to put hope of acceptance, regret over who he is, concern over Linda and a hundred other emotions besides into that one second twitch. Bravo Tom!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the way this show uses music as an integral part of the storytelling is utterly sublime. Metallica - The Unforgiven for those who were wondering. I've just caught up with the episode and flipping heck! Yet another tour de force from both Tom and DB when it comes to showing the internal emotional turmoil of these divine beings. Mamalotte's definitely playing the long game, she's going for overthrowing Dad clearly, first Lucifer, now Amenadiel and she's also got rid of Uriel, who was always trying to find favour with God (indirectly of course). She's getting her children to do all the dirty work while she sits back and waits. Wonderful lighting and cinematography this episode as well, the lights through the tree with just the faintest hint of red/pink while Tom was playing the piano solo was beautifully done. I think the thing to remember with Lucifer's "real" appearance is that he appears different to each person. That face was Linda's own vision of what she thinks the Devil looks like - each time he's shown his actual face it has been subtly different for each person, a very clever way of putting over the fact Lucifer's punishment is unique to each individual. Lucifer broken is painful to see and you get a sense of the bone weariness of telling the truth but never being believed and the ending was, for me anyway, very powerful. He revealed his true self, hoping that Linda would then believe and understand and be in a position to help him, instead she's left in a state of petrified fear. Next week's promo looks like Linda's not going to let it go either. Also fabulous news that Fox has ordered the back nine, giving Lucifer a full season of 22 episodes! Quote:
Fox is giving Lucifer fans a timely Halloween treat: The network has ordered an additional nine episodes of the devilish drama, bring its Season 2 total to 22 episodes (aka a full-season order)

I thought Lucifer had broken for a couple of weeks for the Presidential Elections but it appears not as I've got two episodes to watch that I didn't realise were there!
Thoughts to come later

Last two episodes have been very good with top marks for the Lucifer/Dan dynamic getting better and better.
I'd have tried to kill him for stealing my pud too ! And well done Doctor Linda. In fact, as an ensemble piece, it's firing on all cylinders at the moment. |
