Could the BBC sell EE to C4??

Yes I know it's a BBC production but hey on this day we'll always remember as Bakesit could we see the BBC sell all their popular formats including EE to its commercial rival?

Could we see EE in a ITV sandwich with its Northern rivals and no more clashes?

Then we could be treated to EE 7 days a week on +1 and Morethan +1 etc?

I can't wait!!!

Yes, It is what the goverment want. In fact during the charter renewal negotiations. Ch4 said they would buy it.

BBC could still make it, sell it to ch4 and jobs a good one.

diff with bakeoff is that it is made by a third party production company and not the bbc.

the government want the bbc to let third party production companies make more stuff, so we should expect if something is a ratings winner it will eventually go to another channel

Thanks J-B and soap-lea.

C4 or even C5 would have it. Yes they've invested in a new set but just think if it was broadcast on a commercial channel. We would get all manor of sets such as a gym and a bistro. These are the only community locations people use.

Where is SOC? Is he part of this defection master plan? That is why we haven't heard his vision.

Oh halcyon days!!!!

Its not likely to happen any time soon, it might be pushed for again at the next charter renewal. but I expect due to peoples tv watching habits changing that it might be a good idea to sell it on and make some money back on the cost of the set before it is cancelled

The tory government will undermine the bbc at every opportunity as they hate it.

However I don't see this happening.

My tongue is firmly in my cheek. I'm just lolling at the immense uproar of a very popular baking format's defection to a commercial broadcaster.

On a serious note I think BBC should think about producing these formats themselves

Interesting 2020. How can they justify this? HD? Is the set going to be open to the public to attract a revenue?
