She's clearly not an evil person. She has good intentions. She just takes things to heart. She seems to have no family or friends, which would explain why she becomes overly attached to a particular person.

I don't think she's as bad as Kate and Sophie make her out to be. She's misguided and controlling but I'm betting the reasons for it stem back to her childhood and that's why she doesn't talk to them. I think Kate and Sophie have been vile to her, especially with the misunderstanding about giving Kate flowers for her mum's anniversary. All they do js treat her like a piece of dirt, you wouldn't think that Kate was supposed to marry her not too long ago. Fair enough that she doesn't want anything to do with Caz anymore, but it's not like she won't let her live in peace.

I agree that Kate and Sophie have been vile to her. I am starting to loathe Sophie Webster.
At what point did Corrie decide to make her a nasty evil cow? I have to say though, (regrettably,) that I find Rhea Bailey's acting quite poor. (The girl who plays Caz.) I am really struggling with her. Can't help thinking she wouldn't be getting any acting jobs if she didn't have a famous singer for a sister. |

You both are right, in my opinion. Kate and Sophie are coming across as the childish, petit ones, they're bullying the poor girl! Caz has no family or friends, and she doesn't deserve to be treated like that and be made to feel so small. I wouldn't wish loneliness or isolation on anyone.
The funny thing is, I don't think Sophie or Kate are meant to come across as Unlikeable. Similarly to Andrea/Lori on The Walking Dead and Kate on Lost, who were meant to be popular leading females, but loathed by the majority. About 3 years ago, I never understood the hate for Sophie, but I do now. She's astronomically annoying. |

Do I feel sorry for her? Yes to a degree because the army has institutionalised her so that she is awkward & doesn't really have a clue how to live a normal life!! She needs another person as a prop to lean on, first Kate & now Maria, but her army training has also made her resourceful & able to pick out someone vulnerable to attatch herself to!! How 'evil' she is remains to be seen, the burglary trick was at best reckless & immoral, I'm going to reserve judgement on that until I see if
Spoiler
Either way from the evidence they have so far Kate, Sophie & Aidan's campaign against her is more than OTT, though sadly I fear they may ultimately be proved right about her!! |

Whatever Aidan's intentions he DID do her a favour getting her the job.
She should be more grateful, instead she is always so passive aggressive to people and lashing out. Which is why people find it hard to give her sympathy |

Yes. She is far too devious and self serving

I'm reserving judgement on Caz at the moment, although i disliked her from the first time i saw her on screen.
Her future actions (and intentions) are yet to be seen, but while i did feel just a tiny smidge of sympathy for her whilst watching last night's episodes, Caz has brought a lot of her troubles on herself, and you can't forget the bad things that she has done to Maria and Kate. Also, I feel the same about the above-mentioned spoiler! |

How can you feel sorry for someone who set up a burglary just for Maria to get scared so she can stay in her flat

I don't normally comment on CS threads but yes, I do feel sorry for her. She's s struggling to cope having left the army ( something that's s very hard for a lot of ex soldiers)she's s wound up to the degree that suggests there's more to it and she seems to have no one to support her

It is a pity she has not been a good friend to Maria then, instead letting her get hurt by the bloke who broke into her flat |

Apart of me does feel sorry for her
Coming out of the army and trying to adjust to everyday life must be tough. and also, she was a victim of homophobic abuse which led to her fighting back and being kicked out She should realistically of been advised to have counselling. |

Yes, but mainly because Sophie and Kate are so deeply unlikeable that they make Caz look lovely in comparison.

She's an opportunist and while I do think it must be hard for her to live in civilian life after being in the army it's no excuse for what she did to Maria. Caz can't keep using that or whatever family problems problems she's had as an excuse forever.

Completely agree. I think Caz has been given a raw deal. The other night it seemed like Kate was the one taunting her outside Roy's, then of course we have the sanctimonious, predator Sophie always around to voice her opinion when Caz messes up.
I don't think she's a bad character as she's been made out to be, I actually think Kate and Sophie are more bitchy. But as we know from spoilers, things will turn nasty with Caz soon enough, but up until now I actually feel quite sad for her, and I hate the way Sophie just wormed her way in there, essentially broke up Caz and Kate and now spends her days bullying Caz. |

My problem is that she doesn't seem to have anyone else to turn to. Why is she having to rely on Maria, a relative stranger? Of course she can't use her family problems a s an excusefor hurting others but she seems to be frighteningly alone in life. She had no option but to live rough a few weeks ago.

Caz can't accept when things go wrong. She's deluded herself into thinking she can manipulate people around her into getting her back to a life she's lost. She's also been in the army and I've no idea what that has done to her state of mind. She's her own worst enemy at times.

The main problem I have with the character
is that the so called 'actress' chosen for the part, simply can't act. Wooden? Wood looks dynamic in comparison! |

Apart from the burglary - yes.
Does Corrie think we should like Sophie and Kate? As for Kate I took an instant dislike to the character when she first arrived & every scene she's been in since this Caz s/l heated up makes me dislike her more & more!! Awful character!! |
