Huawei for the most part are still pretty much unknown in the UK. I am thinking about buying a P9 Lite I saw on offer, how reliable are Huawei phones? What sort of company is Huawei? Have you had any issues with Huawei phones?

I’ve got a couple of cheap Huawei Androids and they are basic but reliable and just go on and on until you get sick of the sight of them or technology out grows them.

Mind you there flimsy and creek when you hold them too tight but they only cost ten’s of pounds and I’m sure their upmarket stuff has sturdier frames and just as reliable.

They are a huge electronics company with massive phone sales outside of Europe.
Recently talked about and praised on a BBC click programme. Also the flagship P9 isn't flimsy and has a dual camera, yep that's before apple though about it.
Some great reviews on iTunes doing side by side tests with Samsung, Motorola,Apple. With great results.

I've had a P8lite for about a year and I'm generally happy with it. I bought it because it was dual sim, fairly good spec, but not too expensive.

I´ve had the normal P8 for a year and a half, i´m still happy with the phone.
Battery still holds, it´s fast enough for me - no hanging or slow loading of the Internet sites.
For the price it´s a good phone, bevor my P8 i wouldn´t have bought a phone from China but now i have changed my opinion, iwon´t spend my money on expensive phones anymore.

The Google Nexus 6P is made by Huawei and is a solid piece of kit. They're pretty good I think.

I'm taking delivery of an Honor 8 this afternoon. (Honor is a subdivision of Huawei.)

The Honor 8 is one of the best, if not the best looking phones I've ever seen. Specs are almost identical to the Huawei P9 but this phone is much cheaper.

I'm a big fan of them.

I went for the P9 lite too.

Never had any issues with any of their phones.

As a phone its better than the Samsung's mid range phones, but obviously
behind the the flagships.

Unlike many lesser known companies, they fully design and build their own devices, rather that trawl the tech fairs for products to brand.

Only issue is the Unites States Government consider they are too closely linked to the Chinese Government.

Huawei phones are like Japanese cars in the 1980s. Never cool or fashionable, but doing the job really well.

My mum has the P9 and absolutely loves it. Always going on about how good of a phone it is. I have been very tempted to switch from iPhones over to Hauwei for a while now...

I took the plunge today and bought the P9 Lite. I have to say I am impressed, The launcher does nothing for me but I put Nova on and everything is good so far.

It benchmarks better than a P9 (despite lower clock speed but more RAM), looks nicer (IMO), has the smart key the P9 doesn't, an infrared port, eye protection mode and more that I've probably forgotten. Oh, dual SIM (UK P9s didn't have that) and a fast charger in the box (P9 doesn't either - just P9 Plus).

I've swapped from my P9 to the Honor 8 as my daily driver now.

I've been playing around with my Honor 8 for a day now and it is a fantastic phone. It really is. Particularly enjoy the quick photo capture feature by double pressing the volume down key while the screen is off.

Many reviews I've seen online seem to slate EMUI. I don't know why - I find it to work very well.

The fingerprint sensor is unbelievably fast and accurate. It quite simply puts the fingerprint sensor on my mum's iPhone 5S to shame. I like that I can navigate through photos in the gallery by swiping left and right on the sensor.

It's going to need a case, though. It is as slippery as a wet bar of soap. I fear that if I drop it, it won't survive.

Here's my review (posted earlier today). I talk a bit about EMUI in it, as it does need explaining to the masses.

I just got the 'view cover' windowed case today - https://goo.gl/photos/vrtFEsN7vbmPWChKA

The other case on the vMall website is good too. There are links to the accessories in my review.

It lasts much longer than a 5X which I had in the past, at the end of the day I still have at least 50% battery left and thats it taken of the charger at 6am and back on at 10pm
