First Look At X Factor Bootcamp And The 'Wall Of Songs'
13 Sep 2016

This year X Factor has added a twist to bootcamp by introducing a 'wall of songs'.

The contestants are faced with a wall covered in bits of paper with song titles written on them. The singers, who will be held back until the appropriate time, must run and try and grab a song they want to sing.

Insiders called it “Carnage”, with people “obviously fighting” for the song they wanted to sing.
Reminds me of childrens TV like Swashbuckle grabbing as many rats as you can.
Do they also chuck gunge at the "contestants" too ?

X Factor meets Its a Knockout ?

Can't wait for the car crash episode.

For god sake, just let them sing what they want. Let them show how good they are, let them show their talent. What's the point of someone like Janet Grogan for example coming out and doing a bloody rock song when it's probably unlikely she would ever sing one in the real world. It's so unrealistic. It's the same with the themes in the live shows. Nobody in the real world as that versatile unless maybe your Beyoncé. Allow them to sing what they want and show us their talent instead of restricting them.

Here's hoping it is complete carnage, to the extent that any Hudson, Whitney, Beyonce songs get ripped in half by shouty screechy divas, that want to be the next Beyonce etc, as in reality one Beyonce is enough.

Is this a way of them trying to say that Boot Camp isn't staged by the songs being picked by producers? Instead the groups can choose what they sing?

Though why not just give them a free reign instead of this?

When the show gets to bootcamp, the songs broadcast are restricted by copyright law, which doesn't apply as strictly at audition stage. To ensure that the producers and editors aren't restricted with the material that they can use, they provide contestants with a list of songs they are 100% cleared for. That's the reason for things like this, and it's just another way of jazzing up the selection process. Sounds quite entertaining to me!

Is it bad that this one could be entertaining? Although it's more like BB than TXF.

But we know all that, so why jazz it up, when there's no need to. Unless they want the performers to get flustered and annoyed that they couldn't get the songs they wanted, and give a poor performance. That's one way of getting rid of them, and what a great entertainment show that will be, I don't think!
