The minute Kerry slept with Ross I knew this would happen. The new producer is certainly chanelling his Hollyoaks days with 'obvious' storylines.
If they wanted to make Kerry pregnant, why not just have Dan as the father, but the major storyline being, Kerrys past lifestyle, has ramaifications for the baby.

Well that is true. Even the Doctor is dumb as nuts. Ashley is quite clever, I guess. And Pierce, but he's a psycho.
All the women are dumb though, even the business women and vets. They throw themselves at unsuitable men - bad men (oh Rhona), married men (looking at you, Leyla pops), underage men (accusez vous Vanessa), vaguely gay men (Chrissie, you numpty), and not one of them has heard of contraception.
Except Harriett. Harriett is awesome.

Same stupid and unimaginative storyline stretching across all soaps for decades. Poor babies. Either they're desperately wanted and can't be had, or unwanted/unexpected and face an uncertain future. What did babies ever do?

I didn't mind Ross being Moses dad as but I don't think Ross should end up with another baby. As alcapo said, it doesn't suit the character of Ross to be looking after kids all the time. I just can't see this baby being Dan's though, this is a soap after all.
As for Kerry, why did they have to give her a baby plot? Isn't there anything else they could I think of for the character?

Dan is due to propose to Kerry next week. If Kerry were having Dan's daughter, which being Emmerdale she probably won't, I'd want them to call her Ruby.
Could there not have been an unprecedented learning from the past and Ross actually having (and using) a condom?

I've just realised if t' sprog is Ross' then Ross will have a child by the grandmother of Cain's kid. I know it's not incest or anything but it's still bloody weird to think about. Thank God that village isn't real because if it was we'd be having to build walls around it to ensure none of the inbreeding enters the outside world.
