Tina should be doing cartwheels instead of crying

As Sonia has never been a great catch

Nice that they paid tribute to Michael Leader at the end there.

If this is the shape of things to come in the next few weeks, will be hardly worth watching.

Utterly boring.

Thats what Sonia does

She drains the humour and the soul out of the show, until it turns into Coronation Street

Poor Tina, and she missed out on her spaghetti hoops. that reminds me, I haven't had them for ages, tomorrows lunch sorted.

Another meh episode, needed more Denise.

EE is so bad at the moment. Last Week was crap in a ridiculous, trashy, badly acted way now it's crap in a deadly dull way.

EE are doing themed weeks. Last week's (or at least the first part) was based on Kirkwood, this week (and the next few, if spoilers are to go by) seem to be based on Newman.

Bring on the John Yorke theme

Why did Sonia have to tell half the square before she told her partner and daughter.

And why was poor Denny involved in a conversation about chopped liver and Phil dying.

Terrible writing tonight

Poor episode.

I really really don't care about Sonia and Tina. It's always the same thing with them. Rinse and repeat of the same scenes where Sonia keeps quiet, boasts about something or someone and Tina is oblivious to anything around her. Dull, dull, meh. She couldn't leave soon enough. Whenever they are heavily focused, it just gets so dreary and repetitive. I'm so tired of them. I'm sorry for being negative but I just don't find either of them likeable at all.

No sight of Kathy during the Mitchell meeting. Doesn't even get a say to what her son wants to do with his liver. It's not surprising though. I mean, nobody even told her he was abducted till she met Louise. Sigh. Even if she was there, she would be silenced and probably cave into the majority. Her opinions don't matter. Anyone who goes against King Phil is the enemy. It would probably go like this

Kathy: Ben, I will not allow you to do this. You're only [insert age here] years old!
Ben: It's the only one to keep dad in my life longer. Why can't you understand that? I'm not losing him
Sharon: Kathy, it's his choice and we need Phil in our lives.
Roxy: He's growing up
Kathy: Yeah, I guess you're right

Highlight of this episode was Stacey, Denise and that's it really. Yep, that's how poor the episode was.

Thanks for the thread VGKid and enjoy your travels

Good evening time for yet another unpopular DS opinion, I don't mind Sonia and I thought that was a decent episode as far as acting and story progression is concerned.

I enjoy Sonia/Martin/Stacey scenes and I have also enjoyed her scenes with Jane.

I am glad she ended it with Tina and that she tried to do it gently.

8/10 for me a lot better than some of the junk last week in my opinion

I liked the scene with Kush, Carmel and Shakil. I hope that Carmel is reasonable when she finds out about Denise and Kush. Carmel said that she doesn't need Kush's blessing for her relationship with Masood, the same applies for Denise and Kush's relationship. That's if their relationship starts again.

I thought it was a much better episode than yesterday but I personally think the past two episodes have had the most uninteresting duff duffs I've ever seen.

I'm glad that Sonia broke up with Tina and that it didn't drag on for even longer.

Atleast Bobby hasn't been forgotten and he wants to do his time. However I can't see how Jane is feeling rejected by him when she didn't even tell the police that she had a major role in transporting Lucy's body - instead she let Bobby get arrested with everyone thinking the worst of him.

Was only fitting one of the worse duff duffs ever followed such a dull episode.

Future spoilers and storylines aren't filling me with any confidence thing were in for a dull finale to 2016

No. She leaves next Tuesday.

I'm enjoying this week. I think this is the beginning of SOC's work filtering through. Sonia is the most watchable she has been since Jamie's death. Breaking away from Tina is a massive plus.

It also feels like we are seeing scenes that would have otherwise been omitted like Tina sobbing into Linda's arms, Stacey dishing out the dinner, Ben and Phil sharing biscuits in front of the box or Sonia returning from work. It's small but it's noticeable. Too much has been occurring offscreen and we have had an endless stream of plot driven scenes, sometimes it's nice to display the mundanity of life. It's essential in soap but it's very easy to get wrong. I feel like they have struck the balance this week and it makes scenes like Tina and Sonia breaking up pack a bigger punch as they're playing against a backdrop of normality.

I'm also loving the character interaction. I'm really hopeful for this new era. I can see the reasoning behind his axings and I think it shows he has a clear vision where he wants to take this show. Change is good and change is needed.

Hi all,

I haven't seen the episode yet as I went to the pub instead, but I feel like it would score somewhere around:

Thanks.
