good to see mac being slowly found out. Hopefully the rest of the family will see him for what he is soon.

That was the feeling I got too. Especially James saying 'no he didn't hit me'.

It recalls me Brendan and his father's storyline. Big, strong, bad boy- scared of his dad.
So Marnie did know about Mac's abuse towards James

Can't believe how much I have grown to love the Niightingales. Not long ago I absolutely hated James and Marnie simply detested them. I'd now put James as high in my list of favourites.

Him, Ellie and Alfie all have big storylines coming and I find Nathan really endearing. They have worked out so well. As a unit I really like them!

Did Mac sexually abuse James?? I'm glad James is getting a hard hitting sl instead of just the stuff with JP. Also great to see him take the steps of making sure Mac gets punished.

Jade she is one of the best and my fav teen, I really hope she survives.

James said Mac was 'creative'. That doesn't say sexual abuse to me. It says locking in a small space, verbal abuse, menial tasks that are impossible to complete etc..

Another great ep IMO: Alfie/Jae and James/JP

I really hope you're right. I hate the thought of another gay male character in soap being revealed to have endured childhood sexual abuse. After Brendan and Aaron it's a bit much!

I thought the same, like burnt him or something I hope its not sexual

JP is so sweet to James, its nice them being friends

I really hate how they ignored James, and were shocked he would be coming to a family lunch, was so cruel

So sad His their son and brother!
Perhaps Neeta will support James later on?

Yeh, it was a bit of a sudden change of heart in that way.

no matter what you would care for your brother, Ellie has been shown cuddling James so they clearly are friendly

Im guessing its to truly isolate him so they pick Mac or him, and will always pick Mac

James change the locks sweetie now Morticia has moved out you can do what you want, get Neeta to live with you

I have never been able to shake off my thought from the first time I saw Ellie that she is Hollyoaks' answer to Daisy from the Dukes of Hazzard!

It is remarkably charitable of JP after James split him & Scott up. Now I think about it, suddenly James doesn't seem as bad as Scott after all.

Watched the full ep again. Actually, made me think for a moment it might be sexual abuse but then I thought Mac probably killed James's pet as a lesson he'll never forget!!

James was always the best option out of James and Scott, even as a cold cruel calculating baddie he was still miles better than Scott

Deep down JP is as grateful as any of us to James for splitting him and Scott up!

Lest we forget, Scott helped Tegan kidnap baby Rose last year. Also, James does have a slicker manner outside of the vulnerability we are now starting to see, and is therefore a more interesting character.

James has always seemed a bit disjointed from the other kids, possibly due to the age gap, more likely the problems in Mac and Marnie's marriage and Mac's abuse, hopefully this will bring them all closer.

I noticed that James' story will be done with help from the NSPCC, so I'm thinking that this will be a long and tough story, but hopefully if there are no 'shock twists' like in JP's rape for example, this could be a great story.

Scott has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. James is a million tines the character he is.

JP never suited Scott, being with James would have its toxic aspects, but with time, they really could work.

I guess his mother will pick Mac, and the other kids will as well, James will hit Mac and be arrested

I hope that Alfie and Nathan will at least be kind to their brother but doubt it
