Well my friend spends a lot of time on the ballroom circuit with a dancing daughter & partner and she says that AJ and his partner Chloe (who is on Strictly stand-by) are absolutely fabulous people and very very popular . So there 😜

Aljaz was 23 in his first year and won, and you can't really judge him if you haven't even seen him dance! I think its really unfair to rain on AJ's parade while he's just been shortlisted.

And of course lots of Strictly pros have gone by nicknames or shortened names or affectations. Oti, Pasha, Ola, Katya, Anya, Anton....

His name is Alex Joseph, but has been called AJ since a small child - it's not affected for the show

I've seen them both on the circuit several times. AJ and Chloe....My Granddaughter dances Ballroom and Latin in Competion....They are a fabulous couple and deserve the recognition ..

thanks for the list Ann think this is a new award event ?? is it run by Warren (such a good business man) very similar to the classique du Dance and Carl Alan award set up - though a few more catergories - if it is run like them a panel of professionals will whittle that list down to 3 in each catergory - had to smile at some on the list. So many people I know on there especially on the services to dancing list

Do you know AJ personally? have you met him? are you part of the dance circuit? if no then i think your views are pretty unfounded .

If you do know him then maybe enlighten us all on why he is no gentleman (and his age is not a reason)

It seems to be at least the 3rd year, but it does seem to be heavily associated with Warren and Zigzag (who I agree does seem to have a lot of business ventures ). I looked at the October 2014 list and there were 3 names in each category and so I think you are right about how the names get whittled down.


I missed out Matthew and Nicole who were on that list.
