SOC is getting rid of all EE's morally bankrupt characters, Jane surely will be next.

You can't have so many killers or people responsible for murder living in one square.

Thoughts?

I think not.

People keep going on saying Sock likes characters to be punished but the end result of his domestic abuse story was that Rob lived and Helen was found not guilty

Jane and Babe should certainly be on his hit list.

Donna will be the next one announced, followed by Tina, Vincent & Shakil.

I've heard about this s/l on the Archers.

What purpose does she serve? Her sentence is in the Beale household.

I think I would have rather seen her serving a sentence for conspiracy etc

Yes Babe has to go. I like Annette but she isn't serving any purpose

I think these 3 are 50/50 depending on development

I think either Kathy or Jane will be axed, but not both because it would leave the Beales in limbo.

Kathy is at risk because her return, sadly, hasn't worked out. Jane because, well where do I begin?

As much as I'm against too many axings, I think SOC is doing well by sorting out the amorality in the square by getting rid of Claudette and Ronnie. I'd like to see Jane and Babe go as well. These are all characters that have done horrible things, and while you expect a certain amount of villainy in soaps, the issue is that they're all dragging down other characters by association. In the case of Jane, she's not just doing that, we're also expected to see her as some wise and guiltless voice of reason. It just doesn't work for me.

How could they axe Jane without killing her.... She would never leave Bobby after everything ..... It would undo the whole Lucy storyline

If you axe Jane then Kathy can step up

Such a shame as it had potential to be one of the greatest stories until the reveal of the killer and it's associations destroyed it imo

Absolutely. DTC abandoned the moral code that had guided EastEnders for 30 years by allowing so many killers to go unpunished. The Square is now populated by thoroughly horrible people, many of whom were ordinary, decent people but are now either murderers and covering for murderers.

Imprison the sociopath. J-B and I have said it all along - she needs to be taken into custody, and sentenced to a lengthy and brutal sentence.

I thought I would never say this but shall I start the keep Mcbeale campaign?

dead kathy is incapable of stepping up, the actress lacks the skills, give me mcbeale and her shady sly ways anyday

I used to love Jane but there's no way back for her. On one hand I hate this massive cast clear out but, on the other, the writing and character development has been so bad over the last couple of years that it's inevitable.

I'd have kept the Cokers, Lee and Roxy - the rest need to go.

I'd love to see Laurie Brett take up new roles, as she's a good actress.

Much as she's been Ian's most stable marriage, Jane has done everything possible and I wouldn't be too sad if she left. The character took a major hit by covering up Lucy's murder, protecting that devil child Bobby and letting Max go to prison for a while. The Beales themselves just don't seem to be doing much for me these days. Perhaps killing off Lucy was a mistake in hindsight. I thought Hetti Bywater's acting had improved a lot and she could've been a really important younger character on the show now.
