I have an iPhone4 sim only.
250Mb data is more than adequate - I don't watch videos or download stuff.
I rarely get anywhere near the full useage.
My data renewed on the 11th and on the 13th I was told I'd used 80%.
Today it's gone.
The only thing I did yesterday was connect to PC to upload all photos and erase them from phone.
My data was used up rapidly some months back and EE gave me a free additional allowance but could not examine my useage as its sim only.
Any ideas please?

Maybe your PC internet connection went through the phone via tethering or something? Or it could just be some kind of update that used data or app.

What does it say in your data usage page In the settings, it should tell you what has used the data?

If you head over to Settings>Mobile Data/Cellular you should be presented with apps that are allowed to use it.

Have a look through each one to see which one may have used your allowance.

Like Thine says it's possible Mobile Hotspot could have been used which could account for running out.

Seems to be EE saying you are consuming more data than you really are.

I was down by 0.5GB within 3 hours of listening to tunein radio with an EE mobile broadband sim inserted in my samsung 4G smartphone, and I only ever download Google Play Store app updates, virus definition and phone security updates via fixed line wifi. It should not really consume that much data in such a short period of time, but the page where it says how much data you have left says so.

You obviously don't get anywhere near as much mobile data as EE supposedly sell. Make 6GB of mobile broadband data to consume within 3 months only 4GB in reality.

I seriously have no idea what that means .
However EE gave me 500MB as compensation after I spoke to them.
As I'm Sim only they can't actually analyse my usage but they could see that it also happened in January when they also compensated me. I'm just bugged that I can't discover what's causing it.

I keep track of my data usage by both the onboard data counter (Android) and O2's MyO2 app which tells me my allowance remaining (I'm on a big bundle.)

Surely Crapple and EE have got similar facilities for you to check these things?

So, did you check on your iPhone?

(Personally, I would say that 250 megabytes is too small nowadays even for light use)

Could it be an app which was uodated? That could take a big chunk of your 250mb

Hope you have evidence to back your claim up. My data counter on my iPhone is reset on the bill date each month and by the end of the cycle the My EE app is usually correct to the odd 10-20MB (usually attributed to resetting the counter later in the morning rather than at 00:00)

I'm abroad now and using the wifi in the apartment.
I installed a data manager app.
I'm back to "normal" consumption and the free 500mb will easily last the month.
I was simply baffled by total consumption in 48hours.
I don't use social media, games, videos etc hence the 250mb allowance being adequate.
I've managed it for well over a year since my contract expired.
