Coronation Street: I feel bad for Sean

I can't do long quotes on this, but I agree with NDD - Eva did betray Sean's trust. I wonder if she remembered to tell Billy that Sean rang the hotel back to cancel the cancellation.

I found Billy jumping to the conclusion that it was Sean who called the bishop, and getting so angry about it, a bit out of character really. It is hard on Sean though - he was just coming to terms with Todd and the vicar being together.

What sort of rack do you mean - spice, shoe?

Sorry James

No it's North of England slang for her nose/beak!! (maybe other parts of England too?)

If it was her rack she was sticking in there I may be more inclined to forgiveness!!

Though losing his temper and jumping to conclusions may be be out of character for Billy the overall of him being a nasty person isn't. There seems a false perception on here that Billy is nice maybe because he smiles a lot and is a Vicar as I cannot see any other reason. He is a nasty piece of work in my view. He lied almost constantly to Sean in their relationship. He didn't tell him about his brother for absolutely no good reason and he messed up dates and their holiday even over it but for some unfathomable reason only Sean is criticised for being childish and demanding. Perhaps if Billy had treated Sean like an adult and an equal and properly informed him of what was going on in his life Sean may have been as big a help as Todd was.

I think Billy always fancied Todd and in fact went to him with his problems to pave the way for something to happen. He is a dreadful person and Vicar in my view. He is nosy, untrustworthy and immoral. I wouldn't say I feel sorry for Sean but I would say Sean is actually in the right over all of this and since being dumped and going through the humiliation of Billy getting off with Todd of all people he has actually acted relatively maturely.

I think it's just a northern thing. I know down here no one knew what nebby meant. Then again spelk, clarts, hinny, canny, sneck, hoying and various other words in my vocabulary are met with a confused silence.

I don't know if I'd go as far to say Billy is as bad of a person as you described but he certainly isn't as good as some people believe, he has done some questionable things and you might have a point about him being attracted to Todd. Todd is a hot guy and Billy dumped Sean for Todd for purely physical reasons. Todd has a lot more issues than Sean has and wouldn't be as good of a BF as Sean was.

At best Billy certainly isn't the right man for the profession he is in!!
For a start he broke the biggest rule in the book & betrayed Sarah's trust over her Callum admission, to make matters worse it wasn't even fact, just his assumption!! It REALLY wasn't his place to go blabbing to Todd, quite apart from breaking his religious oath!!
Corrie really are clueless about what it means to be a clergyman, for one thing in this day & age they simply don't have time to be out drinking in the pub all the time & harrassing people in their workplaces!! Does the guy actually do any pastoral work or is he on a one day a week contract!!

What characters would even show up for Sunday services? Emily is gone so the only other one would be Sophie. The rest of the characters only go to church for weddings, funerals and baptisms.

I don't like Billy much - there's something old-mannish about him.

Trevor Tiger - you're right. Billy is no angel and behaved just as badly as Sean when they were together. You could tell he was a bit sweet on Todd ages before they got together - why couldn't he avoid temptation and keep away from him? And there was no reason not to tell Sean about his brother.

Not sure exactly what a vicar is or does, but I bet Billy's a crap one. Even the shirts he wears show he's far too worldly and self-absorbed to be a priest (imo). I wonder if he's got personalised number plates

Poor Ken must be sobbing in his half pint when he reads these posts and realizes he spent 60 years teaching and it meant nothing. What a waste of time his higher education crusade was. 😅 😅 😅

I judge him more harshly than others because he is a Christian and a Vicar. He can't go round pointing out everyone else's sins when he's sinning right and left himself. I agree it is pure lust from him for Todd and that really is disgraceful behaviour from a Vicar.

If he does any it's only in Coronation Street and he only carries it out in The Rovers. The rest of the parish have all turned into devil worshipers since the church has abandoned them

Good points, pastors should be held to a higher standard.

Only when it comes to tiresome, unlikeable, deeply irritating fictional soap characters such as Sean, Tracy.

Or Emmerdale's Skank Charity.

Newcastle and we do speak English just an improved version of it . It could be worse - I could be using text speak or phrases like "on fleek". Perhaps the education I received wasn't all bad then . One of my kids said that learning Geordie phrases was a bit like French only not so posh.

I feel for Sean too, and think Eva is a prize bitch for grassing on him. The hotel trip wasn't cancelled in the end,so why did the silly bint need to tell Billy anything?

As an aside, what is going on with Eva's bottom lip? It's huge, and swollen! It has a life of its own! It probably has it's own postcode! Here's a recent pic.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2016/...2989082990.jpg

In fact her whole mouth looked odd tonight, with the strange looking lips.

She's starting to look like Georgina off Big Brother!
