Thread title says it all pretty much, before Jack left ( due to Clive's illness, r.i.p ) did he buy butlers farm from the wyldes for the Sugden family to move in with Andy? I use to drift in and out of the show, I remember Diane and Billy had an affair then Victoria blew up Annie's cottage. If I remember correctly Jack and Victoria moved in with Andy and Jack sold the cottage and bought butlers for the family.

Also did he leave everything to Andy in the will if this is the case why was Victoria or Robert not upset that they were snubbed.

Victoria did get a legacy. She bought Betty's house with it. Robert was given his share by Jack to clear off when he killed Max King.

Butler's was rented from Home Farm Estates by Andy. The Bartons bought it.

Robert wasn't given his share at all, in 2004 Robert took a £10k bank loan plus £5k at was left by his mum and invested in Scot windsors garage in 2005 Jack bought Robert half of the garage for £20k so that he would leave and stop feuding with Andy. Jack then sold this to Debbie the money wasn't anything to do with inheritance.

I remember Jack did invest in butlers before he left due to Clive's illness with the money they got for selling Annie's cottage.

My memory is that Andy ran Butler's into the ground and it went bust (I think this is how it ended up in the possession of the Wylde's or maybe they just threw him out because he couldn't afford the rent and it was never Sugden owned)

I am sure when the Barton's first joined Emmerdale they were renting the farm from the Wylde family which was the source of a lot of conflict between the two families. Nathan and John in particular. It wasn't until later on the Barton's got the money together to buy it outright.

So did jack just but farming equipment for the farm with his money then. If you remember Jo threw andymout after he was beating her, but then he snuck back and broke thing so she would need him to "fix" them. She then caught him doing this and he lashed out and chased he to an outbuilding but ended up impaled on some form of spike ( and made a miraculous recovery with no scars despite the spike coming from his back through his chest).

When he was in hospital Jo sold all the equipment and left Sarah with the dingles while she ran way to escape him, this is why the farm ended up bankrupt. So from what you say, I'm guessing he only bought the equipment and not the building and land. So when jo sold it and ran there was no money to go to Andy. So all jacks money got,split between Victoria and Andy, no wonder Robert felt Jack favoured them.

I don't know, like I said I can't remember Jack ever owning it. I just know it went bust and the Barton's initially rented it from the Wylde's and worked it as tenant's they didn't buy it themselves until later on.

Andy got the tenancy to run a farm from Butler's when he was very young 17/18 I do not recall anything about him ever owning it, it was leased.
