I'm not surprised. He was there to tick a box and not a character in his own right. Its a shame because there was potential.

I'm not surprised because apart from being transgender he is incredibly pointless and SOC did the right thing to axe him really. The more and more I hear the more I admire the way he's not afraid to get rid of the more boring, pointless or burnt out characters. I think we can expect maybe just a couple more. Some may even be kept secret until transmission.

Agree. Cannot say I am shocked. DTC must be annoyed at all these departures from his reign.

About 1% of the population aren't cisgender (i.e. transgender, genderfluid). The number could be larger because of closet cases (source: BBC). It totally makes sense to have a transgender character - as long as they meet both of the requirements. Kyle, unfortunately, only met the transgender part, and was lacking on the character.

Both character and actor were just a box tick for DTC and his crew...Kyle had no development at all outside the sister/transgender reveals. All he does is cook.

SOC is really identifying the deadwood and past it characters and clearing them out. Shakil surely only a matter of time now.

Another one bites the dust...it's one per day at the minute. It's a shame he didn't get any development or stories of his own really other than his entrance.

That is true for a lot of the characters who are going. So I hope that SOC learns from this, when he casts new actors he needs to ensure he allows them to develop and not pick his faces and give them all the storylines.

He's only got himself to blame. He had some good talent in his cast, he just didn't use them wisely.

I do hope SOC knows what he is doing, as doing all these axings at once without having a chance to get to know some new characters is risky, his new characters better be up to the job or it could be an epic fail much worse than anything DTC did

He wasn't there to tick a box. He was a transgender character played by a transgender actor. Why is it those who are by and large the segment of population always represented on tv are always the loudest to moan about so called box ticking?

I liked him and it's a shame.
