SOC is holding no punches. I don't think anyone expected this mass axing. I think Kyle could have been interesting with a bit more development. He really hasn't been given the material. What a shame.

They never replaced Paul too.

The morale of the cast must ge really low.

I don't disagree with any of SOC's axings. We have to remember that we've just come off the back of 3 of the worst producers in Eastenders history - there is a lot of fixing needed.

With all of these leaving how many cast are left? something like 30-40? is that the lowest it's ever been?!

It's a shame, I like Kyle. He never gets anything to do though, he doesn't even really interact with his own sister anymore, despite them living in the same poky flat. He just hover in the kitchen at Beales like an extra most of the time. They could have done so much with him.

DTC was the most short sighted EP we've had. No long term plans for characters, some ruined beyond repair and the history of the show mangled for absolutely no reason. Don't let's forget what he did to Gavin and Margaret too.

Surprised about Kyle and Claudette as I've supported SOC other axings but I think they all make sense.

I like Carter-Millington, but he was underdeveloped.

There's others I'd have gotten rid of before him though.

I think, in this case, most people are complaining that he wasn't given more to do. He simply existed but didn't live. By saying that its box-ticking, most of us aren't saying that he shouldn't have been cast, or been transgender - but that there should have been more to his character than being transgender. Apart from Stacey and Martin (and now Steven), I can't really name any character that he has any kind of relationship with - friends, enemies, or love interests. His only storyline was that he existed and was Stacey's secret half-brother.
