SOC sounds like a tough decision maker but I'm slightly worried about the lack of knowledge about what he plans to do.
I think we need casting announcements soon including hopefully a new family to counterbalance all of the exit news.

When it's just exits we read about it can seem unbalanced and negative

I'm going to reserve judgment until we see a few of his castings, and some of his work on screen. But so far I can't say I disagree with anything he has done.

EastEnders has grown stale and boring, it needs radical change rather than tinkering. I'm willing to give him a chance.
I don't see it becoming less stale and boring unless he does something about the remaining cast. The Beales are terminally dull, the Mitchells have been on a loop for years, Stacey is chained to the kitchen sink and they've done s*d all with Steven and Belinda. These axings are not going to make a blind bit of difference unless he does something about the creative staff.

I'm not.

he is getting on with the job he was paid to do, as long as he doesn't start writing fan fiction into the show and pandering to fans I think he is gonna do well. I think we might just get a new legacy family
BIB You are a lot more optimistic than me on that one, I suppose it would depend on your definition of legacy.

Yes he's getting on with the job, that I have no objection to, but in my opinion it is risky to axe as many characters and expect the audience to wear a huge amount of newbies in one go as I expect we will have to come, but only time will tell

I agree at we need something positive to look forward to, I don't want then to rush into new castings though. New characters should be well thought out, assessing where there is a need, coming up with a decent backstory and planning out a story arc for them. They need to ensure they find the right actor for the role, preferably casting someone with television experience over stage.

They shouldn't just cast someone quick because they have axed almost a quarter of the cast

claudette has gone.

mystic Vas keeps saying Donna is next
Claudettes head has already been on the block I'm afraid. No news on Donna yet. Does Lisa still film Vera?
Blimey, he doesn't mess about. I do think Donna will be gone by the year's end.

And with all these newbies, some will get overlooked, the viewers won't take to them and they'll be axed and replaced with new undeveloped characters in their place

It's the circle of life

All of those things can be fixed with good writing. The Mitchells and Beales are strong enough characters to bounce back from a spell of bad characterisation. Some of the newer additions don't have the benefit of years of good characterisation behind them.

At this rate she will be lucky if she's still about stuff the end of the month

what like the carters?

I think he probably will have the experience to have looked back and seen how people have reacted to things.

that being said who said they will all come at once?

I'm not expecting any big casting news until Christmas but I wouldn't be surprised if we hear of a return soon. I'm actually surprised they haven't announced Lucy Benjamin returning. Lisa was one of the main characters Sean O Conner storylined during his previous stint and with Louise on screen it makes sense to have her back now.

I hope not. I found Lisa to be incredibly dull

I don't really want Kyle to leave. They could've had more storylines with him.
