Sean O'Connor has certainly had a good clear out! Does everybody agree with his choices? I personally agree with most of his axings, although Pam and Les were finally starting to get interesting.

there isnt any i disagree with, as long as he brings his own characters in and develops them better than DTC developed his creations

I am just hoping that Steve McFadden doesn't quit or worse decide he wants to be killed off. He is reaching retirement age! ?

I'm a big fan of Phil Mitchell in general.

The trouble is the show doesn't know how to develop characters anymore they're very bad at it.

I still think there is more deadwood, I will miss Ronnie, Roxy & Mas despite not liking them very much as they've been on the show long time but otherwise I'm not against any of the decisions his made, the show is at an awkward period atm,

I do feel we need a sense of what is to come in terms of new characters/stories to at least give viewers something to look forward too, the constant axing is not a good look.

Even though I'm gutted Les, Pam and Claudette are leaving, I love the fact he's not afraid to get rid of characters and make changes and I'm loving all the unpredictability of it all. Who will be next?

Me too Grimes, he's one of my faves. Can't see Steve quitting yet, EE will never be the same when he eventually leaves though

The last time he left was bad enough but luckily for me I loved the cast who were in it at that point so it was ok. The cast now don't even match up.

Having "Dirty" Den Watts there was a great help for me as a viewer.

Looks like it has been confirmed.

I agree no loss. His casting never seemed like anything more than tokenism, he hasn't done much at all in the last year.

I can't see Steve McFadden leaving for a while yet 5-10+ years I reckon and I don't think he is at the age to retire either, he is my fave too I'll be stopping for good when he calls it a day.

I agree about the cast, it's probably the worst it's ever been. We need some legends back imo.

So why hasn't Carmel, Shakil and Kush been axed yet? Their a waste of screen time. Kush was okay to start with but since Shabnam has left he's become pointless.

Who else do you think might be on their way to the exit door?

I really like Les and Pam I think axing them is a mistake. They have fitted in very nicely and the show needs characters like them who aren't always centre stage. Its refreshing to have an older couple who have been married a long time - a rarity in soap. Although having said that, I do think they have been written into a corner with Paul being killed off. Having their only son die followed by their only grandson has made them very tragic characters.

The axing of Ronnie and Roxy is a controversial one as well given how they're such big characters. Both have suffered from poor writing the last few years but could easily have been redeemed. There's plenty of mileage left in both characters.

Other than that I agree with all the characters who have been axed: Buster, Lee, Kyle and Claudette. The actor whose plays Masood chose to leave of his own accord so nothing to do with SOC.

I feel that way to. Who on earth would be his replacement?

That would be great. I liked that era as so many characters interacted with one another.

I'm surprised none of the tabloids have made a thing about him axing everyone.

Kush is one of the best characters that DTC created. Plus Davood is a good actor. Kush is not pointless, he just needs to be used properly.

I agree with some of them being axed (Claudette, Masood, Lee, Roxy and Ronnie) but I don't think it's a good idea to get rid of Pam, Les and Kyle. They could've had more Storylines.
