Just so pleased to read this. She is starting up as part of a two piece band called 'Sheltrs'. She is one of my al time favourite XF contestants, and would have done really well had it not been for the shabby way the show treated her.

We will have to agree to disagree over this. I think she os one of the best contestants over the 12 years of this show, and 1uite frankly there have been very few really good ones in my view.

Totally agree. I've never got her hype. Beyond overrated and the drama around a pretty mediocre singer was embarrassing. Her audition was cheesy and cringey

It's not really, there was immigration issues, they have to be careful.

I wasn't a fan of Melanie McCabe, but Gamu was something else. I think the show lost all credibility when they put Katy Waisell through instead of Gamu because "she would make good TV". I think the creators of the show have no respect for the intelligence of its audience.

The immigration issue was not the issue.

You have summed up what happened really well. Hope that she does well with her new music.

She auditioned in a really tough series where she just didn't standout as much sadly for her.

However now that she's older and the lineup will be much weaker, she could standout more as long as she hasn't started doing the vocal gymnastics.

I reall don't think that Gamu would go back on the show after the way they treated her. Her new music sounds really good, and she has a real chance of doing well without the help of a naff reality show.

Good luck to her, she probably wouldn't suit today's X Factor anyway.

I remember people going on and on about how Gamu was so obviously "the chosen one" that year and then the sheer outrage when she didn't get through and Cheryl suddenly turned into the devil incarnate!

I still think they were planning to bring her back as the wildcard instead of TreyC, but then the drama with her immigration status kicked of. It's too much of a coincidence that it was revealed on the final Xtra Factor that Nicole and Simon had picked her as the winner. I disagree with those who say she was a mediocre singer. Her boot camp performance is one of my all time favourites on the show. And she hadn't impressed me before that.

Strange on Xtra Factor the "Find Gamu". Now Gamu has popped up. I would not be surprised if Cowell has signed her.
