ED : Andy Sugden

I could be wrong, but doesn't he still own the house that Vanessa and Carley live in, if so they would be paying rent still, so that money must be paid into some sort of account, or is the money given to Robert or someone else .

If so then why don't the police check the accounts, or ask Vanessa or Carley what account are they paying their rent into or who they are giving the rent to .

I don't think Andy remembered he owns their house or else he wouldn't have been living with Victoria after Katie's death.

I'm sure living with your sister is preferable to living with Carly, Nessa and baby, and in any event landlords don't get to just move in with their tenants.

Who are you, Peter Rachman?

Eta : to save you googling, the most evil and notorious London landlord ever during the 50's/60s.

LOL well I'm sure he'd give them a reasonable amount of time to find a new place to live. I didn't expect Andy to walk in their house and say get the eff out.

Didn't he move in with Toxic Tracy not long after Katie died - sure he effectively chucked Leyla and Vanessa out - but then thought better of it?

How did Katie wind up with the cottage anyway, I know she got it in the divorce from Declan but wasn't he in the process of going bankrupt at the time of the divorce. Surely the bank would have let him hand over assets so easily?

I have a feeling the cottage was always Katie's - I think Matthew King bought it for her as a thank-you for stuffing Grayson and letting Perdie go with the surrogate baby.

But somebody whose knowledge of ED history is stronger than mine might be able to remember better.....

No wonder the kind went bankrupt with such benevolence

Also are we suppose to belivie it is a 3 bedroom cottage because judging by the down stairs, there is no way you are getting 3 bedrooms and a bathroom up there. That's not even taking into account the room needed for a hall space to seperate the rooms. Unless the 3 bedrooms are all tiny box rooms.

Or is it 2 bedrooms and Vanessa and Leyla bunked up?

And even with 3 bedrooms ( 3 mi is use bedrooms) where did Andys kids stay when he had them over.

the houses in Emmerdale are ridiculous, the cottage the Barton's stay in is the same size and some how houses a couple, their 3 adult sons and baby grandson

Does Emmerdale even remember Andy owns Katie's old cottage? There is a question and why he continued to rent it out, while living in a damp caravan at Moira's farm when he had children who needed somewhere to stay during his access time is another question Emmerdale never bothered answering. Also he sold Katie's horse riding business for a fair wack and gave all the money away to charity in a grand benevolent gesture rather than you know, putting it in a savings account for his children't future or using it to buy a home he could live in with them. Debbie gets some stick around these parts for her selfish parenting but Andy is no better.

Katie got the cottage off Declan as part of their separation deal. She also got the K-table (remember it )
Debbie owned it at that point, but used the money from Declan's purchase to buy the house she currently rents to Ashley & Laurel

What's the k-table? And also how did Declan give away property when he had the banks breathing down his neck, surely he wouldn't have been allowed to sign away even in a divorce as this would leave financially struggling couples something to exploit?

Declan was financially solvent at the time he & Katie split.

The K-table was exactly what it says - a big red K (presumably for Katie) with a table top

But would the banks have not frozen his assets as although he was solvent he was in financial difficulty which is what was causing problem with Katie ( he wanted to keep quite about the dead body as it would ruin him and his business) surely the banks wouldn't have let him give cottage away in a divorce as they would have frozen his assets and giving away property in the excess off 100's of thousands wouldn't have gone down well with them

How could anyone forget the K table? I wonder where it is now. Whoever has it should sell it to Kerry. Better than having it sitting in a shed or whatever!
