Surely with Lee going, Linda on maternity leave, I can see Tina on her way out and johnny.
Will SOC axe Dan?? He is becoming a little boring now in my opinion and I do think Danny dyer does have the opinion that he is untouchable. Maybe it's just me... but I am becoming incredibly bored of the Carters tbh |

That would just be too good! I can't see it happening right now as there have been a number of changes, but maybe once the dust has settled we'll see the last of dull-as- dishwater Mick and his monotone delivery. If this part was played by an unknown actor, I'm sure he would have been long gone.

I'd love to see the Carter's away from the Vic to see how they function. I do have an odd feeling that SOC may actually replace them in the pub.
The Carter's would work perfectly fine in a house on the Square imho as when all is said and done they are just a family of chavs. I mean Linda had two kids before she was 17, 3 in total before she was 19, which under other circumstances would raise questions. I mean having 3 kids by the time you are 19 must be a soap first. |

We can but hope. The Carters are so boring now it's unreal. The same old crap over and over again.
Getting rid of them would be a ballsy move but the right one imo. |

Mick should fall in love with a new character and have an affair.

I don't think he will axe Mick in a million years, but I do think the character is an utterly boring, self-absorbed hypocrite so I wouldn't miss him if he did.

I had a weird dream that Lisa with her new dodgy fella, who was actually played by David Easter!, buys The Vic.
Don't even know why I'm dreaming about EE

I'd much rather he had decided to breathe new life into Massood Claudette Ronnie and/or Roxy than boring Mick Carter. All he does is judge other people whilst harbouring a psychopath in his home and worry about "L" and her darts or whatever nonsense she is flapping about at the moment. And I can't see any potential for character progression either especially if they are left in the Vic as seems likely.

Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright along with Linda Henry are the 3 best Carters. There was no need for the kids to be honest.

Agreed, along with Stan and Johnny v1.0, they were a solid unit. Will be interesting to see what direction SOC takes them in.
I think after his death the Carters sort of lost their way a little bit ![]() I also can't abide new Johnny. I miss Sam Strike

Sorry sorcha can't agree. The only one worth keeping is Shirley imo. I find Mick and Linda terminally dull. But at least if he got rid of the kids and the numerous hangers on like Babe and Sylvie it would be something.

He's contracted until September 2017 so isn't going anywhere for a while. I do wonder if the plan is to cut all his family around him so he goes running for the door when it's up and SOC then doesn't get the negative press of axing one of the most popular actors on the show. Let's face it, he seems to have it in for DTC's creations and there is no bigger creation than the family Dom based on his own.
I don't want it to happen but I do think the Carters need to be taken in a new direction as Mick and Linda have been written atrociously in recent months. |

I think the Carters are fine as characters but there needs to be some changes to them even if it means them moving out of the Vic (however I would like to remain in the Vic). I think O'Connor has some plans for them for the next year. I agree with Sorcha about Johnny. I think his return has been pointless because he hasn't added much and Ted isn't a decent actor sadly. I prefer Sam Strike's version because he had charisma and was believable in the role, in my opinion.

Shirley, Mick, Linda, Johnny the First and Stan would have made an excellent little unit for the Vic. It's all the others that have dragged them down.
Shirley is the only one that I find remotely interesting at the moment. Danny Dyer isn't a bad actor and with some better material/ a new direction I think Mick could be saved. But right now I couldn't give a monkeys if he left. |

Why does everyone hate the Carters? I quite like them, well except Lee, Tina and NuJohnny, and would much rather see them than endless Mitchells and Brannings.

The Carters are just dull as shite, that is the problem, compare them to how they arrived to now, unrecognisable.

As for the Mitchells and the Boring Brannings, I have had an absolute gutful. Steve McFadden is undoubtedly the best actor on the show (with possibly Adam Woodyatt coming anywhere close) but there is always a danger of overkill. The producers really need to put both families in the background to refresh them for a while and let others take centre stage for a change. |

Every time someone runs a poll on here about who should be running the Vic it comes out in favour of the Carters. They are pretty popular. Like everyone else they have suffered from. some dreadful writing. |

Gotta agree Grad. I have no problem with the Carters and find Mick & Linda very believable. However Linda Henry, while good as Shirley, gets far too much screentime at the moment.
