The Grand Tour – Amazon Prime Video from 18th November 2016
Amazon have today announced that The Grand Tour will premier globally on 18th November 2016.
New episodes will be available every Friday for 12 weeks. The first episode will have a runtime of 70 minutes, with future episodes having similar runtimes. The deal will see 3 X 12 episode series over the next 3 years, and will be shot in 4K. An episode has already been filmed in Johannesburg, but the first episode to be broadcast will actually be from California (to be filmed this month). Reported guests for the first series include Charlize Theron and Matt Damon. A new promo has also been launched online today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oK0l...ature=youtu.be There was a previous thread discussing general speculation (http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2150163), but now we have actual details and the premier is just a few weeks away I though it warranted a new thread. Happy for them to merged though if the mods disagree.

What I find amusing is that Amazon heavily promoted a discount offer for their Prime Membership around this time last year with pictures of CMH. However anyone who took up that offer will find that it needs to renew at full price before they actually get to watch them.

I suspect there will be many offers to coincide with the launch of The Grand Tour, especially as Black Friday will be the following week. I'm expecting reduced Amazon Prime memberships, along with offers on the Amazon Fire TV Box and Stick. |

It's looking like being a great show
![]() Interestingly a lot of people who don't live in countries where Prime is available are asking on Facebook Etc how can they view it and The Grand Tour are replying " Watch out for details" which looks like it's somehow going to be networked globally

I'm looking forward to this, and I think, on reflection, that my early indifference to the title "The Grand Tour" has given way to actually thinking it sounds rather apt, given the rumoured production values and quality that the show supposedly has. It could be a very grand tour indeed.

I'm going to take the one month option at the end of the 12th episode. All 12 should be available at that point I assume?! £7.99 for a month seems fair to see all of them + whatever else takes my fancy in that period.
I have no interest in buying from Amazon or using the streaming services for anything else. |

It just occurred to me - do you think the title is also a reference to gran turismo?
![]() If you mean, are they directly referencing the video game, I really don't think so, no. |

Hasn't anyone told them Amazon is an OD service?
The whole 1 a week thing is as old and out of touch as they are... |

I suspect in territories where the Amazon Prime Video service isn't available they'll be looking to do broadcast deals with traditional broadcasters - many of which I suspect will also be the broadcasters if Top Gear.

Can't you just take the free trial and watch them all that way?

What are you suggesting? That if an OD service wants to make its own series, they should hold every episode back until they're all 100% finished, then make them available in one fell swoop?

That 30 seconds teaser trailer was already better than the whole of last series of Top Gear
Really looking forward to this.

By the sounds of it, them moving away from the BBC could be a blessing in disguise. |

Think I did a free trial to demo a TV at work. Customer wanted to see the pq they could get on the new TV they wanted to buy if they watched Amazon.

I don't suppose anyone knows if it's likely that the Grand Tour will end up being boadcast on normal television at some point. Secondary broadcast rights for Top Gear saw it appear endlessly on Dave. Might the Grand Tour crop up somewhere else too, once it's been shown on Amazon Prime? I already spend a small fortune on Sky. I don't want to fork out for on demand streaming as well.
