BBC News (probably one of the few parts of the Corporation that hasnt regretted The Blessed Trinity moving to Amazon, because they are still making good copy) have collected some of the reviews from the critics & Twitter as well their own Arts Editor.

It depends on your platform. I downloaded it this morning on my Android tablet and I think you can do the same on iOS.
Thx for the advice but I am bit of a technophobe. I just use my windows laptop and googlecast it to the TV. I am on Sky Fibre broadband but the speed is pathetic at times and it was nearly impossible to watch in places.

..and people thought the celeb bit on Chris Evans' TG was bad. This was a complete waste of time!
I think it's because the star in a reasonably priced car was a BBC invention and not one of their own skits, so they were just writing it off for good, I enjoyed it !

I loved it, was obviously a lot like Top Gear but with half the team working on this you'd expect that. The cars, cinematography and music was spot on and the humour is what I like about these 3 presenters.

Same here, was just a bit of fun which is what loved about TG.

I thought it was excellent and the quality is there for all to see. It will take a bit of getting used to because it is like Top Gear but still different. The lead in was just like a movie and was a great way to start a new show.

I have a feeling that Killing the celebrities will be a running gag through the series. They all came up on the credits as playing themselves so they are not look alike's.

Wasn't keen on the American racing driver but wondered if he might just have been there for the USA show.

The show was a bit heavy on the 3 hyper cars but I think it will be better balanced at it goes forward.

Overall for the first show a big plus from me and can't wait to see the next episode

One annoying thing for those of us who live in the sticks or anywhere with poor broadband speeds is that you can't download the episodes and then watch them without buffering issues. It is hard to judge the show objectively when the quality of the streaming is so poor for some of us.
What do you mean? I downloaded and watched offline as I do for most of my prime content - BB is just too unreliable, besides, I intend to watch again tonight and it doesn't make sense to stream twice.

Wasn't into Top Gear apart from the Christmas specials, watched most of this but it was more of the same (as expected) got bored towards the end.

Oh, so that's what HDR should be like! First HDR video I've seen that's really blown me away. And I quite enjoyed the show too.

If you're receiving at the laptop wireless and then casting wireless to the TV, I'm not surprised!

Strange question...They have poor broadband so aren't able to download successfully. If broadband is poor many download in the background as it will usually take quite a bit of time.

I enjoyed it. I can't remember how long it's been since the trio were last on but the break meant i could look over some bits which fell abit flat ( the american stig replacement etc)

Not their best work but a solid start which made me laugh and more importantly made me want to watch. I didn't even see the post trio bbc top gear.

Enjoying this! The American audience is cringeworthy, but to be expected.

It works.

It's just different enough to work whilst still the same. It had a nice balance of humour and seriousness for me.

The celebrities bit was a big WTF moment. Didn't get that at all. I was expecting Matt Damon to walk out of the crowd but it didn't happen. Perhaps as suggested above they're actually not going to have a celebrity interview each episode and they're mocking TG by saying "Ha! Here is who we could have had.. but we don't need to.."

Will be interesting to see how it goes as a series. It felt somewhat random at times. I much prefer their episodes that have a solid theme and the road trips will be sorely missed if they don't intend to have at least one per series.

LOL It will be interesting to see how the different audiences react as they move from country to country

Well the BBC have nothing to worry about if they make a baking show and instead of a tent use the studio but keep everything else the same. I am liking The Grand Tour so far but it does seem just more for same. Was hoping for different. Just feels like the budget has increased and it looks more stylish but I was hoping for a format change. Just imho I hasten to add

I think 70 minutes is a leetle too long - wonder if further episodes will be an hour. But loved the version of 'I Can See Clearly Now'.

Watching it now. The celebrity brain bash whatever thing and the RAF vs USAF thing was a touch embarrassing and not needed.

Loved it. Entertainment with cars and plenty of sideways digs

The three of them work well together; long may it continue.

I'm amazed people think this is better than Top Gear. It just doesn't have the right feel to the show. I don't think it's a patch on what Top Gear was. I'm not sure if I will keep Amazon Prime on after the trial.
