I am one of those who believed old Top Gear was getting pretty dull near the end, but The Grand Tour is still a lot more watchable than the nonsense Chris Evans was yelling about. The Grand Tour is not bad, and is wholly watchable. Not a return to the best years, but I do genuinely find Clarkson and gang entertaining at times.

I imagine that much of the problem with the show is all the navigation through lawyers, because it seems to be produced just fine.

Perhaps their system is mixed up between GMT and BST, like Wordpress, so a new day 'starts' at 11pm.

It's not linked to a continental time is it? For example, Paris is currently 1hr ahead of London,

The best thing to do is start checking the Twitter hashtag #TheGrandTour at about 11pm, and someone will post as soon as the new episode appears.

Have any viewing figures been released for this new series, I get the impression from news reports that Amazon are suppressing them.

They don't release viewing figures. Ever.

It's because they go live in Europe at Midnight which is 11pm for us in the UK.

You'd have thought that with the talent they took with them that by episode 4 someone would have aid to drop the star death bit ( a one show throw away) oh and a painfully contrived transsexual joke, way to go, this show won't last 3 years unless they tighten things up, as it's streamed people can fast forward though the boring bits of which there are too many.

But you still continue to watch it? I guess you're the loser

DS is a funny place.

I've always watched TG since the 70s just hoped that TGT had lived up to the hype, I guess the dearth of comments post launch in this thread is indicative of how it's been received.

It's been received brilliantly just look at it's ratings and reviews, don't judge a show on Digital Spy haha.

Can't be that bad? http://www.imdb.com/search/title?num...type=tv_series

It's the first time I was able to watch it at that time because I'm off work sick, but will remember that.

I always find DS forums to be quite a negative place to be, I certainly wouldn't come here looking for advice to what to watch

It dragged a bit for me again I actually fell asleep during the first part of the challenge film although had consumed a few beers The second part was better

As I said before it is just quite noticeable at the moment that they're struggling to fill the extra time gained without the reasonably priced car lap, it seems to drag on at the start of the episodes a bit too compared to Top Gear which was pretty much straight into the action

Very suspicious. Presume not high enough to appear in BARB viewing figures either.

BARB dont compile viewing figures for the streaming services. Amazon and Netflix have never released viewing figures for their shows nothing suspicious here.

The reasonably priced car bt took o an extra significance post Jonathan Ross show being canned, they got higher rated starts wanting to promote their films, that slot did grow in length and as you say they're not able to replicate it on the new show.

Sine people that love making a conspiracy out of their own opinions.

Not really suspicious, I don't think any streaming-only service releases ratings in the traditional sense - Netflix certainly didn't with their shows, and I'm not aware of that policy changing, but I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong. For them it is the subscriber figures that matter.

Better again this week but there is still something not quite working for me. Land Rovers built out of meat and bricks just seems like trying too hard to be weird. There were some funny moments but it dragged a bit. The opening car review was straight out of Top Gear and was just what I expected. The conversations were quite good. The killing of the star is just repetitive nonsense, just like Chris Evans' "who had the best car" crap in new TG. Both should have been dropped after week one.

PS I am not a troll and will keep watching because there is definitely possibilities there but they just haven't quite hit on the right formula yet IMO.

Enjoyed that, getting to be more and more like the old days but it needs to be more tightly edited. There's only about 40 minutes worth of actual stuff per show. It's only now evident just how much time SIARPC took up of TG.

For who's benefit exactly would they be releasing the viewing figures? This was discussed a few pages ago. They're not chasing advertising, they're not competing against other shows in given time slots, they're just producing content to drive sales of Amazon Prime and their various other services. The viewing figures in themselves aren't important, it's how much the show is helping to generate Prime subscriptions and none of that information is ever going to get released, it's far too commercially sensitive.

Some of the quotes online suggest that it is even kept secret from the people on the programme, I would have thought they would expect to be told especially after all the dubious claims previously of the worldwide viewing figures. Makes me wonder if the BBC Top Gear probably got more viewers in the UK.

Much better again this week, a better balance between the 'supercars' and the 'blokes mucking about'. The eco-cars and associated banter made me laugh. I still don't like the American Stig, he says some amusing things but his manner rubs me up the wrong way.
