I would get rid of the dais and all the seating in the tent; they all work well bouncing off the audience.

Hopefully, they will settle into a format that works for them and it will become less obviously scripted and they will get the segments right. |

James went on Steve Wright in the Afternoon this week (that's a show on the wireless station called Radio 2.)
Talking about TGT & The Reassembler on BBC4 mostly, I don't think the ape & the hamster would watch that. They'd be asleep after five minutes! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04lk4b6 |

I don't know whether being filmed in 4K makes any difference when being watched in HD but some of the scenes in Morocco was some of the best HD I've seen. It almost made my eyes hurt.

It was rather bright. Maybe choose a different setting for your TV, yes? Mine has Dynamic for PS4 gaming, Movie for just that, Soft for non-HD programmes and Personal if none of those work. So I would choose Movie for TGT as it's in HD, but if the skin tones are too bright or everything just looks like making my eyes sore, it gets toned down to Soft or Personal.

I seem to have a lip sync problem on this show. It starts off ok then gets steadily worse.
Anyone else? |

Ah now, just watched EP5 and was grinning throughout. Much better this week. It's almost like the oil is beginning to permeate the gears and it's all starting to work in the old fashioned way.

Another vast improvement this week. Still a bit too much padding like the whole weighing the car thing but definitely getting better. Much more like old TG.

Again, that might make the lawyers a bit uneasy - getting too similar to the TG hangar format..

I find it ridiculous that they have to be that careful that they can't stand in front of an audience for fear of treading on toes of BBC if that is the case it just seems so childish and petty of the BBC, but then it's the BBC so I shouldn't be surprised by anything.

The BBC own the TG format, so they are simply safeguarding their intellectual property (and income).

So they have copyrighted someone standing in front of a audience chatting, I guess 1000s of stand up comedians and other TV show hosts etc had better watch out they might get sued by the beeb,
![]() Because there is a world of difference between "someone standing in front of a audience chatting" and someone presenting a car-related programme in a non-studio environment that bears a strong resemblance to a format which is owned by another broadcaster and where one of the presenters was previously employed to present said programme. It's not the BBC, it's a specific circumstance where one broadcaster is protecting its recognisable format, and another broadcaster/production company making sure beyond doubt that there is no cause for legal action. And it's why the BBC could not air a copy of I'm A Celebrity (a format that is instantly recognisable and owned by another company). |

I watch it on my iPad, and I find when it begins, the picture is a bit blurry. But it usually settles down after a couple of minutes.
Yes, it's the server streaming at a low rate initially, then gently steeping up the quality to something your internet connection can sustain. If the picture remains blurry after a minute or two, then (for whatever reason) the server has probably decided your connection is too poor. |
