More on that two-parter and another close shave Richard had in his column in the Sunday Mirror:

If you can find a physical copy of the rag in your library/recycling bin, do so because that article was just the main part of the page. There were a lot of other bits & pieces like how scared he actually was when he was hiding behind that car's rear bumper and other stuff.

It's not the BBC, it's a specific circumstance where one broadcaster is protecting its recognisable format, and another broadcaster/production company making sure beyond doubt that there is no cause for legal action.

And it's why the BBC could not air a copy of I'm A Celebrity (a format that is instantly recognisable and owned by another company).”

Or it could be that I was joking.

Looks like S2 will take lessons from what worked in S1 (according to that Mirror article from Hammond):

Quote:
“. We plan to sit down in the New Year and take from series one what we loved and what we felt the audience loved, in order to make series two just as good, if not better.”

Loved Ep 5 too, it was brilliant from start to finish (obviously with the exception of the CBC which is getting a bit stale now).

I thought the rest of the episode was excellent.

I watched it on my laptop as our Fire stick has stopped working already, nobody seems to know what we should do with it (bought it from Argos and no longer have the receipt) and I couldn't wait any longer.

You would think and hope all TV shows did that anyway without telling people they were going to.

Maybe not, judging by some shows. And if they do then perhaps they believe that everything works (despite the viewers comments that indicate otherwise).

Probably the best ep so far and overall fairly enjoyable. Still feel they pad it out just a wee bit too much. Think they need another "item" to last for about 8/10 minutes.

Personally I hate SIARPC, but that filled the slot time wise. As has been suggested could they not have a guest, round the table and they just talk cars with them, or would that be too close to TG

I find myself only partially enjoying TGT for a variety of reason.

One reason though is there far too many road trips. With Top Gear we'd get around one sport car road trip and one other cheaper care one per series. The programme lacks structure, it gets tiring having them often.

With Top Gear I felt the road trip/challenge segments were short and wanted them to be longer, with TGT it's more the opposite.

Yeah it's not rude or anything, they're still trying to make it family friendly.

Amazon Prime members can share their membership with another account. I think it's called an Amazon Prime family. My mum did that with me, although she doesn't know she did.

That is probably legally about as close as they can get to an actual Top Gear episode.

Who cares if it's similar to TG. Just call the 'item' something different and let the lawyers argue over whether it's sampling TG or not.
I definitely think they should have a celebrity in the studio. They could ask him/her about their first cars or what they drive now etc. I don't see why they can't do something similar to what they had on TG.

Much better this week. Not so much larking about and that film about the Ferrari/Ford rivalry was excellent
