Wasn't a fan of top gear and doubt I'll watch this but have to say that trailer looks very very good!!

Almost looks like a movie!

And once again, that trailer has 5.1 audio (from Amazon Prime at least). So the whole show will certainly have a cinematic feel.

I imagine the folks at the BBC must watch this with their heads in their hands wishing they'd just suspended him.

The mention of James Corden immediately prevented me from clicking that link.

Love the trailer! Has a proper Top Gear feel to it.

They may do, but not because of what he appears to be doing with his Amazon show. The only reason he can make the show at all is precisely because he's not at the BBC. If Clarkson and Wilman are to be believed - and I have no reason to doubt them - they had pretty much free reign at the BBC. The only 'restriction' they had was the budget, which was still pretty bloody high, and which has been doubled/ tripled/ quadrupled at Amazon.

The BBC raised him, nurtured him, then they set him free to realise his full potential.

Great trailer and I'm looking forward to seeing the guys again. Just one minor thought that's ticking away in my head....

The home page for The Grand Tour says "Series 1 included with your Amazon Prime subscription".

Makes me wonder if it's a real success that you may end up paying a few bob for any following series......

It's standard wording they use. Here it is for Transparent's three seasons:

Thanks DanielF. Fingers crossed then.

Maybe after all these years in business, I've become a real cynic where money making opportunities are concerned.....

Will each episode be like a Top Gear Christmas special ?
If so then getting quite excited about this.
I have no idea tbh.

From the trailer it looks like that will be a part of it. I'm treating this in the same way that I treat a drama series and don't want to know too much about it until it's aired.

From the trailer it looks like it's going to be as good as, if not better than Top Gear. And from what I've heard about the freedom and budget that Amazon have afforded CHM, my money's on it being better.

If only that Oisin bloke had pulled his finger out and sorted out some steaks for the lads, all this could have been avoided.

Oisin, we salute you...

It's exclusive and original series like this on Amazon Prime that help drive the subscriptions for Amazon Prime

The Grand Tour will also be making a stop in Scotland - at Loch Ness on 2nd/3rd December.

You can apply for tickets no on the Amazon website.

It's been a long wait and I am really looking forward to next Friday. The video looks good so hope the show lives up to expectations. At least I've been able to enjoy Lucifer and Gladiator and other tv shows and films on Prime whilst waiting.

Raises glass to the trilogy.

It looks like a typical Top Gear trailer. No better, no worse. It doesn't look like more money has been spent on it.

But it never needed more money....it needed to be less contrived. And it still looks over contrived to me, looking at the trailer.

One thankful thing though is that there is no more trolling. In fact, I sense a hint of rose tinted ness in peoples assessment.

It will be as good as the old series.....primarily because it's the same.

Creativeness doesn't cost money, but cheap stunts do. Amazon beware.

Production value looks better but with their budget you would expect it to be, it can't be too much like Top Gear because the BBC would have something to say about that. But it will obviously bare similarities because it's the same 3 guys goofing about, which is what most Top Gear fans know and love.

Trailer looks brilliant, and no that's not me wearing rose tainted glasses, it's an opinion like yours.

The thing that cost the (extra) money are the stunts, not the production values. There may be a bit of extra polish, like better sound and super mega HD or whatever, but most people will be watching on medium spec equipment, rather than the very highest spec equipment.

But it looked exactly like Top Gear in terms of camera angles, and filters on the cameras, script and humour and so on. It's exactly the same in that respect.

In the Times a few months ago, Clarkson did an interview during filming, and they were building a reef out of old cars in the Caribbean somewhere , and he made it sound like they were flying Chinook helicopters, and pushing old bangers out the back of the helicopters to great hilarity....which would have been really, really funny. But the trailer shows something far less grandiose and tame.

However, I think that reef building stunt in the Caribbean must have cost millions of pounds to set up, but I remember Clarkson driving around the BBC studios in a tiny car that was hilarious, and I don't think that cost millions to set up, but it was extremely funny.

Clarkson is funniest when doing stupid, silly things that are often quite cheap to set up (relatively speaking).....I wonder if mega expensive reef building will be as funny as Clarkson's reliant robin test when he kept tipping the car over round corners.

However, I agree, It did look brilliant, but so did old Top Gear trailers.

I'm not totally knocking it, but I do think that the stunts will be so extravagant, that the original spirit, circa 2004/5 (before it got too contrived) will be diluted even more than it had been diluted on the BBC.

I'd like to watch it at some point, but I'm a Freeview kind of guy, so I'll wait for some kind of syndication deal if there is one. ITV have said that they would be interested if there was an opportunity.

And in UHD (with a trailer in 5.1 surround, which bodes well for the series itself).

It's going to feel like Top Gear because half the team is behind this, it's their writing and style, it's also why the new Top Gear failed.

I mean with Clarkson, Hammond, May, and cars it would be hard to make this look and feel different. But it's not a bad thing because it's their chemistry people like to watch, but I say it again, the production value does look better imo.
