So as far as I’m aware, no ‘Amazon Original’ has ever been sold to a traditional broadcaster for repeat viewing, or been released on DVD. That’s not to say The Grand Tour won’t be, but it’ll be unprecedented. |

Where does Ripper Street, season 3 onward, fit into this then?
It would be shown first on Amazon Prime and then shown on BBC after. |

The Grand Tour will also be making a stop in Scotland - at Loch Ness on 2nd/3rd December.
You can apply for tickets no on the Amazon website. |

Ripper Street was originally on BBC One until the BBC decided to cancel the programme after poor viewing figures. It was then announced that a deal was made with both Amazon and the BBC to bring back Ripper Street on the following condition:
It would be shown first on Amazon Prime and then shown on BBC after. |

I imagine the folks at the BBC must watch this with their heads in their hands wishing they'd just suspended him.

The man committed a sackable offence. The BBC did the right thing. Why should he be above the law and get away with being suspended for thumping someone. Clarkson is a vile thug and I can't believe people seem to hero worship him.

No, it was advertised as an ‘Amazon Exclusive’, not an ‘Amazon Original’.
Mr Robot comes from the USA Network, and was simply bought by Amazon for broadcast on their service. Amazon have no involvement in it’s production. So as far as I’m aware, no ‘Amazon Original’ has ever been sold to a traditional broadcaster for repeat viewing, or been released on DVD. That’s not to say The Grand Tour won’t be, but it’ll be unprecedented. |

£5.99 a month if you just want to watch amazon videos, or if you want the whole package of £7.99 a month if you want to get videos, free amazon deliveries and discounts.

So £5.99 still gets you the grand tour? I will probably just go for the video one unless there's an advantage over the whole package?
As I said, if you go for £7.99 option it will give you free deliveries and discounts etc and that's all. |

And didn't the BBC contribute some of the production costs?

Yes £5.99 will get you The Grand Tour, there's no advantage, it will give you access to all of Amazon Videos.
As I said, if you go for £7.99 option it will give you free deliveries and discounts etc and that's all. |

I agree the BBC did the right thing, but I don't think he's a thug. We all have bad days and watching an interview of a producer it sounded like tensions was high and all was not well behind the scenes. No excuse but most people do stupid things every now and again.

Bosch, Hand of God, The Man in the High Castle and Alpha House are available on DVD. A search would no doubt flag up more. So I'd say there's a good chance The Grand Tour could end up on DVD.
As with anything you can probably find bootleg DVDs online ripped from the stream but nothing official. Agreeing with others if it's an Amazon produced show then up to now they keep it to themselves unless unique reasons why not, such as Ripoer Street for the reasons given above as that's what the BBC required when they handed over to Amazon. |

Not forgetting that a lot of it was blown out of proportion and exaggerated by the national media, local reports mentioned nothing more than bit of horseplay and loud banter, some of the eyewitness accounts were very conflicting depending on what media source was reporting it.
If it was regarded as 'horseplay' why did Clarkson spend 5 days trying to do a deal with the person he assaulted, why did he avoid informing his management for 5 days. It's a story the Sun would have snapped up, 'overpaid BBC star lashes out at low paid producer', but nought about their star writer till the BBC issued a statement referring to a 'fracas'. Which of the two had the backing of two Murdoch papers, which one is likely to be able to afford a PR and Management team to put out a sympathetic version of events which are at odds with what truly happened. I see Mr Clarkson has taken a year to get his tear jerking cover story in place in time to launch a TV programme. The Grand Tour, more like the Granddad Tour of old farts. |

Anyone see the recent interview Clarkson gave BBC News? (Link below.) It's very short. Would have been nice to see a longer edit.
I never thought I'd say this about the man, but he comes across as a bit whiny. He talks about a 'lack of support' at the BBC because - and I'm paraphrasing - they apparently didn't give him a pat on the back and say 'well done' often enough (well, never, according to Clarkson), whereas Amazon apparently do. I did like his reason for wanting to continue working, and how he says it's impossible to say if the Clarkson of 2016 would have behaved any differently during that incident in 2014. How can anyone answer that? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_...lines/37969741 |
