I've seen it suggested that Westworld is on another planet but surely there would be some differences to Earth yet it looks exactly the same.
You do have a point about such a vast expanse of land still being available in the future to use in such a way but it's still possible I suppose.
Another possible explanation is that Westworld is on Earth but not in the future.
When we saw William step from the outfitting room he somehow ends up on a moving train.
So he was either teleported or was somehow moved there without his knowledge and seemingly no time passing (drugged maybe).
What if instead of a simple Teleporter it was also a Time portal and Westworld is actually built in the distant past of America.
Explains why they have so much land to use and why it looks so much like Earth (it is, just 1000's of years earlier).
We know the Westworld staff don't get home often and communication to the outside world is limited both of which suggest Westworld is a little further afield than "present day" Colorado or Wyoming.
An alternative to the Time Travel option is that the teleporter is a door to an alternate Earth, one where humanity never evolved and thus lots of land to build a massive theme park on.
