How are the US ratings holding up? I'm a bit surprised how negative people have turned on it on this thread.
US viewing figures on the right hand side, considering the size of the population of the US, they don't look great but as someone else pointed out, HBO aren't really bothered about viewing figures. |

Going off this show fast, no idea whats going on, having shitty NOWTV with crap audio and no subtitles doesnt help either.

Beautifully shot, very well acted, Hopkins is a masterpiece...
But its dragging on and on with seemingly zero idea where its going for the viewer. Obviously the writers must know where they want to take us but they are doing it in such a long, drawn out way with zero hints that its just too confusing to be enjoyable at the moment. |

Nice cameo of the gunslinger from the original film in the background. I'm just loving this show and not finding it that hard to follow, it's quality.

The show's beginning to open up a bit now. Not so sure about Maeve going from confused sexbot to arch manipulator of humans. Far too big a jump in too short a fine. Dolores' profession was more convincing. Good to see MiB getting overpowered for a change. Doesn't look so invincible now and will definitely be vulnerable if he runs into uber host Wyatt.

Westworld is doing well ratings wise for HBO, it is one of their top rated shows so it is doing fine in the ratings. |

Wondering when Bernard discovered 5 anomalies off park ,did it mean four hosts and a dog or 4 hosts and Ford?

I've been catching up on this and I've lost track of names already. Who is Wyatt?
Dolores is having flashforwards to the church that's getting built so she must be in the present but she gave an exact date of when Arnold 'died' and I think it was 34 years? The Man in Black said it was 35 so either he was rounding up or he is in a future timeline. Hopkins little boy is making things very interesting now.

Wyatt is an extremely dangerous individual (now believed to be a conscious host) who the other hosts all seem to fear and the humans can't seem to get at - strangely. It appears that he built a defensive maze.

I loved the first episode but sadly I am now losing interest. I think that it is because I don't like anybody and have nobody to root for.
At the moment I don't care if they all die - especially Thandie Newton. I need a hero.

I think the show will only last a couple of seasons. The script writers have been too clever from the off and have lost a lot of casual viewers. They can't rely on geeks.

I love it tbh and think it's the best series I've watched in a long time. But I do remember feeling the same about Lost and Les Revenants so time will tell! |

On who might have planted the satellite transmitter -
Elsie said that Teresa's login had been found, indicating her complicity in the (supposed) espionage. However, Bernard was having an 'affair' with Teresa... he could have been doing so specifically to get access - he didn't seem all that put out when she ended it.. Bernard also told Dolores of the maze, describing it as a test for hosts (to gain 'freedom'). Nothing we've seen from any other park officials indicates this is an official feature of the hosts world - quite the opposite going by Teddy's characterisation of it (which presumably was scripted by Ford) and Bernard was clearly leading Dolores awakening along, deciding if she was a 'candidate' before telling her. |

There are rumours they want to make the show like 5 seasons long.
I really hope those are totally misfounded because if they have to drag it on for 50 episodes potentially it's going to jump the shark and get too ridiculous much too quickly. Can we not have shows that don't out stay their welcome and finish after 1 or 2 seasons? Personally I'm enjoying it and the last few episodes have been explaining a lot more things and starting to pick the pace up a bit. I did think it was a bit silly though that the two scientists didn't just switch Thandie Newton's character off or reduce all her settings to zero, why would they let her hold them hostage? Particularly the beard guy. I mean I suppose the explanation would be they might get fired if they break her, but surely they could have just turned her off and put her back before anyone noticed, I mean hell they took her on a tour through the building with no issues. |

Absolutely loving it and hooked.
I dont understand people saying its hard to follow? Its about as complicated as Inception was... not at all. It is throwing up questions about whats happening, but thats the point, we are meant to create our own theories ourselves untill we are given the truth. And I love that sort of programme. Not had this much fun with a tv programme since Lost. (Just pray it ends better) |

Did you notice that the music (the metallic, rasping beat) in that sequence was also a nod to the film and the gunslinger character in particular? Very similar to the sound as the gunslinger slowly pursued his quarry in the original movie. I recognised it straightaway as Bernard descended to the lower level and knew we were about to see the gunslnger.

You noticed that he was walking with Maeve almost all the way through that "tour" and he appeared to be monitoring her, if not controlling her, with the tablet? A host seemingly escorted that way would not have appeared out of the ordinary and aroused suspicion until they got to the upper, guest arrivals level. Plus the workers in those service and design areas were too busy with their own work to take full notice of passers by. They passed no security or people on the guest arrivals level. It looked as if the area was between scheduled guest arrivals at that time. Although there would be security cameras monitoring, the guard watching the screens might not be there all the time, especially between scheduled guest arrival times. We might see someone reviewing footage later. Mostly supposition, I grant you, but reasonable and credible explanations to me. |

I did notice, i only saw the film recently so it's still fresh in my mind.
One of those BDs also had the pilot for the TV show "Beyond Westworld". Sadly, it was beyond bad. |

Been mentioned before but I'm pretty sure the park is not on earth and the show is set quite some distance in the future.
