It is throwing up questions about whats happening, but thats the point, we are meant to create our own theories ourselves untill we are given the truth. And I love that sort of programme.

Not had this much fun with a tv programme since Lost. (Just pray it ends better)”

I was actually worried that Westworld. is going to turn into Lost. In that case there was so many narratives that were just red herrings in the end. I prefer series that have a definite set of story arcs that ultimately tie together, 'Breaking Bad' and 'The Wire'' being examples.

Interesting. What makes you believe that? I've not noticed anything so far that suggests that to me.

ME either,Im not convinced of that theory,it's likely future but still Earth.

There's a few things that could point towards Westworld being on a different planet but they can also be explained in other ways.

The fact that the Staff at Westworld spend a long time at the Park before rotating back home. This suggests that getting home is a difficult/expensive/lengthy process which probably would not be the case if they are just in some out of the way part of Nevada (given it's the future and transport is probably quicker/cheaper than now).

The fact that communication to anyone outside the park has to be through special channels. Now this could just be down to security issues but could easily be because normal communication (such as phones) won't work.

The fact that there are no real animals in the park (apart from flies). How would they empty the vast area of the park of every single animal? How would they stop birds just flying back in? Far easier to create your artificial environment if you start off with an area totally free of life (barren empty planet). The flies could have accidentally been carried there by humans. If the park is on Earth the only alternatives are that it's surrounded by a dome/force field to keep birds/animals out or we are so far in the future that all animals are extinct expect for flies.

The size of the Park itself. Would one company be able to own so much land and keep it so empty? Seems unlikely if the population of Earth continues to grow as it currently is. Of course something may have happened to stabilize/decrease the population so land can be kept empty.

One of the characters says something about the board of Delos descending down on them. Probably just a turn of phrase but could be meant literally as in they would be arriving from the sky.

One possible point against the alien world theory is that the latest episode did suggest that the Park isn't the only thing on the planet (Elsie was surprised the signal was being sent to a Delos satellite meaning she knows there are satellites belonging to others in the sky) but that could just mean that other companies/organisations have installations on the planet.

I don't see it as anything more than a possibility.

Corwin has explained the extraterrestrial theory but as for the time frame the fact that the first generation hosts are considered relics despite being far in advance of anything that currently exists in the real world implies a setting perhaps a century from now, whereas Humans appears to be set in either the near future or an alternative present.

Snip”

Westworld might be underground. Bernard got in the lift and went down to sub level 82, thats a long way down. Maybe the whole thing is set up in an underground studio type setting, a bit like the `Truman show where the whole town was in a studio and he didn't know. That also might be why someone said about Delos descending down on them.

Edit: Just found this snippet on t'interweb
The idea of Westworld being on another planet is born from the fact that we currently don't know anything about the park's location. Co-creator Jonathan Nolan told Entertainment weekly that if you pay close attention, you'll know where the park is by the end of season one.
Fans have been trying to guess ever since. One popular theory is that Westworld is actually on another planet, like Mars, or even on the Moon.

Just watched ep 6 out of 10 and I'm loving it. Love the nod to Yul and that freaky soundtrack.

I know some people have moaned that its too much of a slow burn but I'm hoping it will ramp up and everything will start to become apparent in the last few eps. Like others have said with regard to the 5 anomalies - was it 4 people and a dog? Or 5 people including Anthony Hopkins? Mind you I'm starting to have my doubts about Bernard being human, `i think he may be an Arnold bot. Bernard Lowe = Arnold.

No one knows what his surname is.

Bernard's surname is Lowe and you can anagram an Arnold in that. We don't know what Arnold's surname is.

I didn't notice but someone else in cyberspace has pointed out that the photo Anthony Hopkins showed early on, of him and Arnold, was the same guy that was playing his bot Dad. Does Arnold actually exist?

After losing a bit of interest, loved this weeks episode. I could watch Anthony Hopkins act all day long. The pace seems to have picked up and I'm hooked again.

You can make "be Arnold as theory" from 'Dolores Abernathy'!

Now, what's Logan's surname.....

No that was a proper episode. Clear and easy to follow. Series should have started like that which would have stopped people bailing out.

I so want to like this as it should tick all my boxes but aside from Thandie Newton, I'm finding it utterly disengaging. This week seemed better paced, but maybe too little too late. I'll stick with it for a week or two but I have to say I'm sorely disappointed.

I guessed right from the start that at least one of the staff would turn out to be a "host"

I'm intrigued as to how Robert Ford is going to explain to Miss Hale/ the board why Bernard is still around & Theresa is missing. I suppose Ford is also responsible for Elsie's disappearance.

The Host Ford is building is likely to be either a Theresa copy or a Charlotte copy. More likely the latter as he then can get her (and the Board) to go along with his plans.

And yes Ford is the most likely person behind Elsie's disappearance (it was likely Bernard who grabbed (and possibly killed) her though)

I thought Bernard was a host from the start too.

Well the fact he knew what miss hale had said to Theresa "blood sacrifice" indicates Miss Hale may be in in it.

I was sad to see the end of Clementine
