It was said in an interview that Ford knew of that conversation because he

was able to eavesdrop through the dormant Host in the room with them.

I hope they aren't complicating matters even further by having a star chamber within the board who are really running things (with Ford) to the ignorance of the other board members. Like with Alphabet/Google where the two founders and Eric Schmidt really run things between them.

IIRC Bernard was on the phone to Elise and "busy" with Theresa at the time of her disappearance.

in a way its a shame that there are 2 Westworld threads In the US one, there are links to interviews with the actress that played Theresa saying she was only in the show for the first 7 episodes, as she had a project to go back to work on in Europe.

It only clicked to me that Bernard was a robot when he couldn't see the door in the house, but it was another fine episode, said it before but this just keeps getting better and better, love this show.

There have been fan theories for a while about Bernard being a host since Ford said something to him about his son; there was something off about the delivery of that line which some took as a hint that Bernard was not human. Good spot but I thought nothing of it though.

And it was maybe signposted a bit too obviously when Bernard said he couldn't see the door immediately after saying hosts wouldn't be able to see Ford's cottage but I suspect that was deliberate - it kind of sets the audience up knowing what's coming before it's revealed.

And just how big is the park? Dolores and William have traveled a long way, although maybe they were hinting that the canyon river is a boundary perhaps.

The US pace thread is only a couple of days ahead - for most of the week it's safe to read, just not between Sunday and Tuesday

He was, so unless they're being tricksy with the editing, it won't have been Bernard. My guess is the security guy, and he''s trying to find out what's really going on at Westworld- Some sort of undercover cop type thing?

Great twist at the end. Hopkins was brilliant.

We see Bernard leave Theresa before calling Elsie back.

They then talk, she says she'll transfer the data onto her tablet and he says he'll see her back in his office.

We next see her transfering data when she hears a noise behind her. We have no idea how long after her phone call with Bernard this takes place, could be minutes could be hours.

Given that the first person she thinks might be there with her is Bernard it's certainly long enough in her opinion for Bernard to get from HQ to the Theatre.

In the next episode we see that (presumably the next day) Bernard is only mildly curious as to where Elsie is (as in a Boss who is wondering why an employee hasn't turned up for work and not someone who was supposed to have a secret meeting with her the night before that she didn't turn up for) which suggest (to me anyway) that he's been programmed to forget the events of the day before.

And unless Arnold is affecting Bernard then Ford is the only one who could do this which likely means Ford is behind Elsie's kidnapping/killing.

I see no motive for Ford to take out Elsie. She was investigating the smuggling of data out of the park involving Theresa (on behalf of the board) which Ford has guarded for years.

Bernard seemed genuinely concerned to me. It seems Ford allows Bernard to operate independently most of the time, hence his "discovery" of the cottage in the previous episode. It's probably happened several times in the past.

Presumably everything Bernard knows Ford does as well.

She had uncovered the re-activated use of the 'Bicameral Relay' by 'Arnold' - who was, presumably, Bernard - under Ford's command.

Why do you assume "Arnold" is Bernard?

It's not watertight, but there are suggestions, including:

Bernard's apparent inability to see 'Arnold' in the photo shown to him by Ford (this also suggests we have seen him without recognising him too)

"Arnold" logging into the Bicameral relay (a motive for keeping a 'copy' of Arnold around perhaps)

The (Bicameral relay) voice in Dolores head sounds very much like Bernard (and it's Arnold's system - now apparently under Ford's control) "Do you remember?"

Several teasing quotes from Ford to Bernard referencing Arnold - "You weren't here then were you Bernard?" vs Bernard's "I've been here forever"

The fact that we, the viewer, haven't seen (original) Arnold (apparently nobody else currently there has either, so far - Ford said he preferred the company of Hosts to people).

Having said that, it's possible there's also an actual (recreated/'uploaded') Bernard elsewhere also, or none at all - but Ford would surely have use for his own pet Arnold..!

Have they not thought that the Police will be called and will start investigate because the woman that Bernard killed is going be reported missing

Would it be possible for US viewers to hold out until the episodes have aired in the UK? That way everyone could join the same conversation? I honestly forget sometimes which thread I'm posting in.

Are you for real?

Anyone watching at US pace has to keep quiet for 2 days, in case you open the wrong thread

Maybe just take more care when opening threads, look at the titles properly

I think this explains it quite well. Potential spoilers though!

One of the more interesting theories I've heard is that the Delos representative could be the MiB's daughter. I would expect Ford to know who the MiB's family were though so probably just another bit of wild speculation.

Still really enjoying the show despite it being a total mindf**k!

Yes. I am deadly cereal, cereally.

I think the Walking Dead thread uses US/UK pace. It just means that UK viewers avoid the thread until they've seen the latest episode.

It's well worth watching each episode twice if you can. I've watched them all again and enjoyed it more second time around.

Yeah. Both shows are on Sunday in the US. The difference here though is that Sky is showing Westworld on the Tuesday I suspect to avoid clashing with the Walking Dead on Fox on the Monday.

I would be furious if I was an HBO boss. The producers/writers have spent a fortune on what is clearly going to be a very niche show. It's a bit like that BSG prequel. All very interesting but hardly mass market. I don't think it will get a third season. Sorry, being negative again!

Honestly I don't see it being a big ask, people avoiding a thread for a day or so. But I guess most people don't see it that way. I just thought it would make for a deeper and more compelling discussion having both groups share their thoughts, that's all.
