That's exactly the point though. Jurassic Park was great film but lots of it doesn't actually make any sense.

Actually the first season was basically made up as they went along. They had to halt production half way through in order to finish writing the scripts.

It's 90 minutes so probably not.

It's legitimately anything but, It's a slow burn to start with but stick with it and it gets better, and better and better- One of the best First Seasons of a TV show ever for me.

OK I made it and got up to watch the finale, could regret this when I'm at work. But then again I couldn't sleep anyway.

There were 2 ad breaks but both only 1 minute long.

That was a fantastic finale and just wow, absolutely loved season 1 of Westworld. Role on season 2.

Also continue watching after the credits, there's a little bit more afterwards.

What a completely bonkers ending. The lunatics have taken over the asylum.

I didn't realise the show didn't air until Tuesdays on Sky. That's a bit cruel, isn't it?

In that case, I'll put my thoughts on the finale under spoilers

Spoiler
Well, after finding the show really heavy weather for the first two thirds of the season there were enough twists and plot advancements to bring the season to an entertaining close.

I still think the Lost-esque piling of mysteries on top of mysteries on top of lengthy monologues on top of ever-expanding physical boundaries on top of red herrings on top of... well, you get the picture... was unnecessarily tedious.

However, with the revolution now underway and the park now in anarchy, Season 2 is potentially set up for some more straightforward narratives.

I assume that the Man in Black / Will will have survived somehow. Perhaps Charlotte will have made it out of the massacre alive too.

And with Maeve returning to the park and Teddy not looking too happy about Dolores' actions there's potential for a lot of conflict.

I believe the whereabouts of Elsie Hughes and Stubbs are also unresolved. Stubbs was last seen being attacked by the Ghost Nation hosts after going looking for Elsie in the park. I reckon they'll both be around for Season 2.

I wonder if Anthony Hopkins will return via flashbacks or whether that's the last we'll see of him. He's undoubtedly been one of the highlights of the show.

I'm glad I stuck with it to the end, but I hope next season is a bit more consistent and a bit less heavy weather.

Spoiler
Well from Ford's POV it's the people not the hosts that are the lunatics.

I had no idea it aired at 2am here. I have my Sky+ box set on 'series record' so you would have thought it would automatically record it but it didn't! Oh well, it's on tonight so not long to wait. I've been absolutely loving this series and will miss it being on. Long time to wait for season 2!

The final episode is available on catch up now to download.

Yes was surprised to see the season finale available on Now TV yesterday. So already watched it and added my comments to the US thread rather than add spoilers here for anyone waiting for the normal Sky Atlantic airing time.

Frees up more time this evening for a bit of Z Nation season 3 on the 'Pick' channel.

Hmm... Interesting finale. I liked the idea that Maeve's unlikely domineering behaviour was following a storyline, presumably by Ford. I said before that it was odd that the show never showed him as being aware of Maeve's behaviour when he must have been. He knows about everything in the park.

I still don't think that Maeve could escape the park so easily. Like with the dinos in Jurassic Park there would be safeguards.

Silly kill everyone ending though although it could be a nod to the movie. Overall, a disappointing series with a good story trying to get out. Did you see the extra scene with blondes after the credits on Now TV or US broadcast?!

Ive just watched the finale and it was a tough, I definitely need to watch it twice. There was too much going on.

Anyone know what the SW logo meant?

I think the Ford at the end was a bot. And yes I did see the extra bit after the credits.

That was all part of her new storyline though.

Slow to the point of turgid start to the series, build up to a flawed but starting to come together if a bit Bladerunnery episode and then stop.

Can't fault the acting. Can't fault the styling. The script worked. The story isn't bad. Exploring some interesting themes. Takes time to build layer by layer. All the individual part - apart from maybe character - are there. It should work. But overall, it felt lacking something. Excitement maybe. But I think mostly character. Apart from Maeve the characters were all bit flat. Teddy started to come together. But the main characters, Ford Bernard/Arnold and Delores were just dull.

There are.

All Hosts have an explosive device implanted in them that will go off if they leave the vicinity of the Park.

We saw Maeve have a totally new body created for herself which obviously did not contain the bomb.

Yes, after the Westworld disaster, Delos might say that it was too dangerous allowing the hosts to become familiar with guns so we've created a new world where they can only use big swords!!

Can anybody tell me what the music was playing during Anthony Hopkins' speech near the end.

That's the problem with this series. They play well known songs in a classical form and I spend the rest of the show trying to work out what they are
