I totally agree, I'm one of the most civilised people you could meet (I hope). I'd always treat someone the way I'd like to be treated, unless they give me reason to do otherwise of course.
I'm not even comfortable with the married/coupled men having sex with sexbots, I'm not prudish or anything I just have high moral standards.

This series is reminding me less of the original movie and more of the video game 'Red Dead Redemption' which was an open world game set in the old west where different missions were triggered at various locations. In the game I was always careful not to shoot innocent bystanders and found it difficult when I had to shoot a horse.

I'd be rubbish in Westworld. I'd probably spend most of my time sunbathing and keeping to myself.

Westworld the TV series looks like a cross between Westworld and Red Dead Redemption.

I'm getting annoyed by the advert for this series. It's got too much information in it. What with that and the advert for TWD, I spend most Sky Atlantic advert breaks with my fingers in my ears and my eyes closed going "la-la-la-la"

Enjoying so far (except for the annoying English story designer chap) but I have small concerns the plot will do a "LOST"

Also, the hype about the graphic sex in this show was way oversold, probably by the marketing people.

Even that racy 2/3 on 1 scene with that cocky dark haired guy flashed by in seconds.

Feels like the first episode was the second & we've missed some important background info/scene setting. No likeable characters.

After 3 episodes I'm tuning out of Westworld because I don't find it good, engaging telly viewing.

The developing (and unoriginal) cyber-plot of evolving AIs in a dysfunctional future human society has been done way better, notably by Crichton himself.

This incarnation of Westworld is like watching a guest in your house play a gratuitously violent online game while completely ignoring all attempts at conversation - simultaneously disturbing and dull.

Thought we'd only had 2 episodes

I'm really enjoying this so far and I think it will get really good when the robots go haywire. Only negative point is that awful English guy in charge of the robot storylines, just an unlikeable and annoying character but luckily he isn't in I too often.

Have they explained why he's so angry all the time?

Also what are the odds that Antony Hopkins wants to 'evolve' the robots so that they can gain sentience and live among regular human society? He seems like a chap who's had enough of the human race and sees the robots as the way to right our wrongs.

With Ed Harris so determined to 'break' the machines. I don't know if he's working with Hopkins or more likely, has something to prove against them. Is the original Westwood part of the series timeline? I wonder if something happened to Ed back in the original park, the company covered up the fact that robots are capable of killing humans, reward Ed's character with a lifetime pass to buy his silence, and now Ed is out to expose the truth.

Interesting news that we will see other worlds after season 1.

And from a separate article;
Quote:
“The production of Westworld shut down last January, and for a while, it was for unknown reasons. Now, we know that it was so the showrunners could plan out the "next five or six years."

"It wasn't about getting the first 10 [episodes] done, it was about mapping out what the next five or six years are going to be," actor James Marsden told EW. "We wanted everything in line so that when the very last episode airs and we have our show finale, five or seven years down the line, we knew how it was going to end the first season."”

Putting the two together, I guess this potentially allows current actors to play different hosts in different worlds each season - whilst also allowing new actors to join at any time.

I'm slightly surprised Sky Atlantic haven't simulcast this with the HBO showing like Game of Thrones.

Yes a very flexible system. But first they've got to make sure season 1 lives up to the hype.

Probably will do if it proves to be as successful. Dont think they simul cast GoT until a few seasons were up and running.

I'm trying my best to get into it, but I'm just not feeling it at all. For me good drama should be able to immerse you into it, however this isn't at the moment, it's a bit like some of the dishes the chefs serve up on Great British Menu, completely style over substance. I'll persevere with it for a while longer however and see if it improves any.

Like you haven't made my mind up yet...don't love it, but don't hate it either...the 2nd episode was better, it certainly isn't no GOT though.

Why is Tuesdays 2nd episode on Sky Atlantic 1 hour and 13 minutes with ads and 1 hour 19 minutes on demand with no ads?

Not really I spoiler I know but best to avoid potential trouble. ”

That's just what I'm thinking

Episode On Demand length is 60 minutes. With 2 minutes before the episode and a further 3 after it, making it 65 minutes overall.

The excess, after the episode, will be adverts for other programmes or sky product promotion stuff. The episode itself is 60 minutes.
