What sort of place was that that someone who is mentally disturbed and attacks a police woman and then is let free to roam without a thought that he may attack again Should he not have been locked in confinement ?

All that money spent on fixing him and he goes on to killer and also maim another and killers himself and Gibson gets a well done

So glad there is not another series but gutted Gibson was not killed ”

Ey' they never came any tougher than Scully, y'know! Some of the things she went through and she was fine 5 minutes later, giving as good as she got!

Clearly the spirit of Scully lives on in Stella!

Because he needed to guarantee himself a quiet, undisturbed 5 minutes in the bathroom with a plastic bag and the belt - is my opinion. I don't think he was concerned with ridding the world of a child killer, ginger psycho was just part of Spector's final solution for himself.

I thought it was a really great ending. Yes, he would never be punished for the crimes but it was a bleak and quite realistic end to an horrific story. Sometimes TV shouldn't go for the happy ending, but one that is thought provoking and shocking

Absolutely wonderful season finale.

I found it to be a rather heartbreaking irony that spectors daughter ended up in the system

Jamie was truly chilling

Can you imagine how slow the episode would have been if Stella had to have a realistic recovery time? It really would have needed a 4th series to resolve everything...

With the lax way he was treated, Spector would have been released after 6 months for good conduct!

I wonder what will happen to Sally Ann? Disappointed we didn't get a follow up since the beach incident.

In one way I feel like they nearly rushed that by cramming all that in but I'm glad they tied it up even if he didn't get held accountable for his crimes.

Good ending to the series though.

The children were taken into care so presumably she's in psychiatric care

I don't know which was more unbelievable. The lax security at the institution or that Stella can afford a big house like that in Notting Hill on a police detectives salary.

There were a lot of complaints in NI about those scenes though!

I never watched that as I cannot stand her. Was it bad that that was the best scene for me

Again poor DS Anderson just seemed to get shunted off to one side once he got injured!

It showed her in a foster home, they were asking her if she'd had any bad dreams since she'd moved.

Talking of Cantona, I half-expected him to fly-kick one of the guards when he went all mad following the assault on Gibson.

I expected him to escape a bit like Lecter to come back in a couple of series down the line

I just scanned through that and saw what he said about the first series ...

Well to be fair, he's not the only one who thought the first series was brilliant and that should have been the end of it.

It's hard to believe this series has anything to do with that first series!

It could happen. Remember in Dallas and the shower scene
