So glad there is not another series but gutted Gibson was not killed
What a chilling post. You are actually rooting for someone to be killed. Have you thought about seeking help yourself?

So .. Gibson was beaten by a very strong man and is at work the next day .. Really!

What sort of place was that that someone who is mentally disturbed and attacks a police woman and then is let free to roam without a thought that he may attack again Should he not have been locked in confinement ?
:
I'm going to blame this on the guards being totally and utterly mesmerised by Spector's pretty face, they wound up giving him free reign to assault and kill anyone he wanted in the ward. Good looks really do get you places.

I thought that was a brilliant ending to a fantastic series.
Me too. I'm glad it ended like that. For a moment I thought it was going down the Silence of the Lambs route, I had visions of Spector escaping like Hannibal Lector and then we'd gave another series!!

Why are you taking a TV show so seriously...have you thought about seeking help yourself?

I kind of wanted him to escape but not for there to be another series, but just so you knew he was still out there, a bit like in hollyoaks for anyone who watches that, a murderer called Silas, his last scene was him getting on a bus with young females and you just knew he was going to be out there killing, you just come up with your own theory what happens to them

I was thinking along those lines too and was a bit disappointed they went with such a final ending, although I do recognise that that was probably the correct decision for the integrity of the show.

Even at the very end when Stella went in to see him, I thought he was going to sit up!!!

Talking of Cantona, I half-expected him to fly-kick one of the guards when he went all mad following the assault on Gibson.

It showed her in a foster home, they were asking her if she'd had any bad dreams since she'd moved.
Ah yes, thanks for that. I remember now she said she loved her dad but didn't think she'd see him until she had a child of her own.

Well worth watching all three series of The Fall.
Excellent performances throughout by Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan. Stand out 'shocking' scene was Stella being attacked by Spectre. Jumped out of my skin. Really intense.
Only irritation for me was the ridiculous scene where he was allowed to walk 'not cuffed' past the lockers and watch the psychiatrist open his locker and place his stuff inside. Too far fetched after Spectre had just kicked the **** out of Stella.
Just glad there was closure at the end with Spectre deceased.

Gillian Anderson has apparently said never say never though.

That really was one step too far in the fantasy.

He's dead

The Fall for me personally was one of those things where even if the story has a few cracks, I actually don't even care because everything else is so captivating and wonderfully done. So much better than most things on TV. A superb ending and I'm glad it had 3 series

Because he needed to guarantee himself a quiet, undisturbed 5 minutes in the bathroom with a plastic bag and the belt - is my opinion. I don't think he was concerned with ridding the world of a child killer, ginger psycho was just part of Spector's final solution for himself.
Yes, that was how I saw it too ... he needed the time and space to kill himself without drawing attention to the act, so where better than behind the locked door of a cell.

I had really worried that the ending to this was going to be a let-down, but these last two episodes were superb and shocking.

I said to my OH quite early on tonight, 'He's going to provoke the ginger lad into killing him (Paul)' I wasn't accurate, but along the right lines in that Spector used him as a pawn. As soon as Gibson said she'd wanted him to survive to see him brought to justice, and he looked back at her with the merest hint of a smile, I knew then he was going to kill himself ... both to avoid jail and to spite her.

Gillian obviously knows all about a shower scene in Dallas!

So we never did find out if he was faking the amnesia?

Are we supposed to make our own mind up?
