He did get Liz Tyler away from her abusive husband.
That's true. I do love Spector's "I just did a good thing - a very good thing!" speech!

I'll believe it when the BBC confirm it

Oh, and if a real-life serial killer starts strangling women in Belfast he'll need a new, original nickname because "the Belfast Strangler" is now taken. How about "the murdering twat?"
He'll probably get dubbed The Spectre.

Catching up with Stella would be mint. Here's hoping for a fourth series.

Presumably Katie turns murderous if her mother is still in it?

Stella won't be in it. New leading characters.

Gillian Anderson has been reported as saying that she would be up for Series 4.

I think the whole point of more The Fall would be for it to be a show following Stella.

I've only just finished watching my recording of the series finale .. blimey, didn't see that coming!

A few comments ..

1. Spector should have had an armed guard by his side at ALL times.

2. Spector had recently undergone major abdominal surgery for a splenectomy. He had a deep midline incisional wound that would have required time to heal. While he was recovering he wasn't able to keep up with his physical training, so there's no way that he would still have had the sort of strength to be so unutterably violent in the interview room, nor later when he meted out summary justice to the psycho Bailey.

3. ACC Burns was still in love with Stella, hence his drunken rage outside the interview room following Spector's attack on her and DS Anderson, following which he felt no option but to hand in his notice.

4. Stella is a very lonely individual - remember some of the answers to the questions posed at her bedside by Dr O'Donnell. Her feeling of despair won't have been helped by the fact that she wasn't ultimately able to bring Spector before the courts, i.e. he'd won, in spite of all her efforts and those of her team.

As for a fourth series, I think they should leave it here and go out on a high. Any talk of all new/different characters (e.g. no Stella Gibson) would only repeat what happened to Taggart when there was no longer any Mark McManus.

Terrific series and sad it's over, but at least there's still the rest of Paranoid to enjoy!

Breaks any more limbs and he can do an Ironside remake.

Oh I so have to agree with you, this week I've watched all 3 series on YouTube - they're all there, ( some with Spanish ST though) and one or two a bit grainy. It's surprising what you don't quite pick up on first time round. I totally get his Jekyll and Hyde personality now, he truly wanted to help the woman with the abusive husband. He loathed himself for being weak with Katie or more importantly being SEEN to be so by the videos she secretly filmed.
Hated that he killed Wallenberg, can't work out why he did that...

I think they meant Wallander (Krister Henriksson of course) and he did not die anyway - Spector just put him in hospital.

One thing I've really learned is that in spite of the sexuality imagery, Stella and Spector absolutely hate each other.

I loved the first season, the problem is they couldn’t re capture that excitement and intrigue. There was no way to really do this as the story had to progress, and unfortunately I felt it was getting dangerously close to farcical in season two, Spector was becoming a cartoon instead of the realistic psychopath he was in season 1.
I don’t mind suspending belief when it comes to stuff like lack of security etc but I think there is a line. I though season 3 might go down a ridiculous road once Spector was saved but fortunately I actually felt they pulled in back a bit. It was still a bit far fetched but I think the ending saved it from being a total farce, Spector didn’t escape and go on another rampage which would have obviously been ridiculous.
So I think they did a fair job in the end, seeing as they were going to have trouble capturing the fresh feel of the first season. Personally I think if they wrapped the second and third season into one it would have been better and kept if fresh. I know the slow burning pace can be a good thing but I did feel some of it was needless, especially when nothing from a story point of view happened.
I hope they bring it back, Gibson is a strange characterisation but I think Anderson does a great job personally.

So apart from not knowing the character name, referring to him by the wrong name of a previous part played and him not dying, comment was spot on

Why the hate for series two? Lots of criticism for it I don't understand.
